Losing control (Hiccup x Reader)

Chapter 16

You spent the whole of that day locked up in your room, your parents tried to coax you out but you refused. Hiccup tried as well but you were too upset to face him.
Hiccup sighs and his hand slides down the wood of your door "I'll give you some time. You know I'll always listen to you. Please don't shut me out forever."
His words sting your heart, you listen as his footsteps fade, You start to cry again, feeling completely trapped. Spear stays glued to your side. You realise that he had been cooped up in your room with you all day with no food. You get up and unlock the door, slowly peeking out then turn to Spear "go get some food and fresh air, just scratch the door when you're back, okay?" You say softly, he nods, rubs his head against your shoulder and walks out. You shut and re lock the door, turn around and slide down the door, tucking your knees up to your chest. It was stupid to you that you were so afraid of Gregory but, after he threatened you, you generally feared for your safety.

You sat on your bed the whole night and thought it over some more, hiding away wasn't going to solve anything. You just had to keep away from Gregory and somehow convince Hiccup he needed to leave.

The next morning you unlock the door and go downstairs to the front door. You peak your head out and scan around before leaving and heading straight to Gobber's shop.
Gobber was working away happily whistling to himself, he spots you and waves "hello lass! What can I help ya with?"
"Have you seen Spear?"
"Can't say I have...maybe the docks?"
You thank him and walk to the entrance, he watches as you look side to side a few times before quickly leaving, he thought it was strange but shrugs it off.

You make your way to the docks but freeze dead in your tracks when you see Gregory and Fishlegs coming your way, you quickly run into the great hall, closing the large door behind you.
"(Y/n)?" You jump and spin round "uh...hey!" You squeak, Hiccup raises an eyebrow, you step lean up against the door sliding across it, fumbling for the handle, his eyes follow you "sorry, probably disturbed you, I'll just go."
"No, you didn't. I was actually about to come see you." He says, you avoid eye contact, looking down at the floor.
He takes your hand and leads you to one of the benches.
"What's going on?" He asks, his voice soft and calm "I-I told you...nightmare."
"Are you sure that's all it is?"
"I...."
He sighs softly "honey, I want you to be happy and feel safe. Whatever is bothering you is clearly preventing that."
"I can't tell you...not right now." You stand up and run out of the door. Hiccup places his hand against the wood and runs his other hand through his hair sighing.

You bite your lip and release a loud exhale, this was ridiculous. You couldn't keep on being too anxious to leave your own home. Worst yet, you were lying to Hiccup, he wasn't stupid, he could see something was off with you, your stubbornness about not wanting to bother him was holding you back from being honest, your father had told you "you can't have love without trust." Sure you trusted Hiccup, so why couldn't you just tell him that Gregory had kissed and threatened you? Surely Gregory was just bluffing and wouldn't actually do something to you, especially if he's claiming he wants to be with you.
Swallowing your pride you spin back around and go inside again, as soon as you close the door you're met face to face with Hiccup again. He hadn't moved for those few minutes you stood outside debating with yourself.
"C-can we talk?" You ask in a shaky whisper, he nods "of course."

You lean against the wall and Hiccup stands opposite, arms crossed watching every move you made.
"I wanted to tell you...back in the cave, why I've been so..." you pause, his expression softening slightly as he lowers his arms "something bad happened?"
"Yes."
He tenses his body, watching as you rub your arm, not daring to look at him. He steps closer and cups your cheek stroking the soft skin with his thumb "you can tell me. It's okay."
You take a deep breath "Gregory."
"Gregory?" He was confused for a moment then his face turns angry and he moves his hand away "what did he do?"
"He...force kissed me, then said if I told anyone he would hurt me while holding his dagger to my skin!" You start to cry as you speak, remembering the feeling of the cold blade. "he did what?"
Hiccup looks over his shoulder then back at you, breathing heavily "he did that to you? My girlfriend?"
You'd never heard him this angry before, he exhales loudly "first things first, he will be banished for this...wait here." He leaves for a few minutes then comes back in with two of his court men.
"Chief Hiccup, what exactly are we doing with him?" One man asks "I don't care, don't even throw him in the jail, I want him out of here! just make sure you find him, send him on his way and make it very clear that he's never allowed to come within at least 2 miles of Berk ever again!" Hiccup orders "but why?" The second man asks "threatening a villager, now go!"
The men nod and leave. Hiccup sighs in frustration then looks at you still stood there, he walks over, hugs you tightly and whispers "you'll never see him again for as long as I live."

Gregory was sent away by you felt like it wouldn't be the last time you'd see him, you had a bad feeling.
The gang sat at the table in the great hall, you weren't with them, you didn't have an appetite so you went to Gothi "soooo..." Snotlout begins "Gregory was shipped off earlier." Hiccup tenses at his name.
"You made that sound like he's some sort of food and we've sent him off to be eaten." Ruffnut cuts in. Snotlout rolls his eyes "funny...but how come he's gone? He was a laugh."
"He had to leave." Hiccup mumbles
"Why?"
"He just did."
"That's kind of vague, why did he-"
Hiccup slams his hands down on the table and yells "I said he just did, alright?" Everyone goes silent, Hiccup scoffs and walks away. "Geez, what did Gregory do? It's got to be bad to piss off Hiccup of all people." Ruffnut says, Astrid watches him leave then looms back at the gang "have you noticed that (y/n) isn't here?" She asks, Snotlout counts the heads at the table "hey, you're right! Maybe her and Gregory ran off together! He totally had a thing for her!"
"It's true that he did." Fishlegs adds "he told me she was cute, but I did warn him not to try anything with her. And what you just with Hiccup is the reason why, he's protective...I warned him."
"No way did (y/n) run off with that weirdo, she has standards!" Ruffnut adds in.
"I'm going to talk to him." Astrid says standing up "good luck, don't come back with a black eye!" Snotlout calls, she punches his arm and heads out.

Astrid enters the stable and finds Hiccup sweeping the hay "Hiccup..."
He stays silent continuing with what he was doing, Astrid shakes her head and walks over to him taking the broom from his hands "never seen your snap like that before."
Hiccup stares at her for a moment then goes to the wall, picking up a second broom, Astrid tsks and yanks it from him "talk."
"Why?"
"Hiccup, my god! look and listen to yourself. You're a walking gronkle egg that's about to hatch, or should I say, explode!" She says, Hiccup lets out a long sigh, he reaches out for one of the brooms but she moves them out of his reach, flinging them behind her.
"What did Gregory do?"
"Don't ever speak his name."
"Wow, he's really gotten under your skin and that takes a lot for someone to do that to you. You've never held a grudge."
"It's nothing to do with me, okay?" He turns on his heel "is it (y/n)?" She asks. Hiccup pauses, Astrid steps closer to him "where is she?"
"With Gothi."
"Hiccup, you can talk to me. I'm worried about you...we all are." She rests her hand on his shoulder.

"He threatened her, when we were in the cave. He kissed her and told her if she said anything to anyone he would hurt her!" Hiccup mutters through gritted teeth, Astrid's mouth falls open, he plops down to the floor resting his arms on his folded knees "who does that? It's obvious me and her are together but he seemed to think using threats would get him what he wanted."
Astrid sits beside him "so you banished him?"
"For her safety, he could have just been saying it but I wasn't going to take the risk. No one threatens my people...no one."
Astrid smiles "a true chief." Hiccup looks up at her and also smiles "I think I'm getting the hang of it."
"You've always had the hang of it. It's in your blood after all." She chuckles "now come on. You never finished your dinner." She lightly punches his shoulder and stands up "I'll join you later." Hiccup says, waving her goodbye.

You were tired, you hadn't slept in nearly two days and the exhaustion was creeping up on you. After saying goodbye to Gothi you walk down the steps expecting to see just Spear but Hiccup was with him, giving him belly scratches, you chuckle and walk over, Hiccup waves as you approach "hello mi'lady!"
"Hey."
Hiccup pats Spear then holds out his arm, you link yours with his and the two of you stroll through the village "you hungry?" He asks "no, I think I'm going to go home and go to sleep. I didn't sleep in the cave, or last night." You trail off, Hiccups face falls "well, you don't need to worry about it now."
He walks you back to your house "sleep well." He says, kissing your cheek "thank you." As he pulls away you grab onto the front of his shirt and pull him back in, kissing him long and hard, he was shocked for a split second but quickly relaxes and wraps his arms around your lower back.
You pull away and gaze into his eyes. "Hiccup...there's something I've wanted to say to you."
"Of course, anything. What is it?"
"I love you." Your face flushes a deep red, his eyes widen slightly and a large smile spreads across his face "I love you, too." He whispers, kissing you again "I'll see you in the morning." He turns around, takes a few steps then stops, looks over his shoulder and smiles.

Okay, so not as beefy as I had planned. I need to remember scenarios in my head Don't always have the same effect when I type them out. Then again, that's probably my writing skills😂😂
