YOU LOOK LIKE THEM

Elizabeth, Natasha, Sam and Steve sat in the back of a SUV that was converted into a holding cell. The four of them each had thick metal handcuffs around their wrists. Elizabeth however had to wear an extra layer of some sort of gloves that were supposed to restrict her powers. Key word, supposed to. They didn't really do much except irritate her skin.

The only reason that she hadn't busted the four of them out of there and take out the two guards across from her, was that Steve specifically told her not to. 'We're waiting for the right time,' he had whispered quietly to her under the watchful gaze of the guard.

"It was him," Steve spoke up, drawing her attention away from glaring harshly at one of the guards. "He looked right at me like he didn't even know me."

The whole ride, Steve's feelings of guilt and sadness hadn't left or even died down one bit. To be honest, it was giving her a headache, but she didn't try to change how he was feeling. All of her attention was on keeping Natasha awake and free of pain from beside her. Not to seem daft, but that was more important.

"How is that even possible?" Sam asked from one corner of the car. "That was like 70 years ago."

The pain from her wrist and Natasha was starting to get to her. She shifted in her seat as if that would help. Trying to distract herself, she tuned into Steve and Sam's conversation. "Yeah," she agreed with Sam. "No offence Steve but like Sam said, that was 70 years ago. You sure your age didn't catch up to you?" Beside her, Natasha laughed lightly.

"Zola," Steve explained. "Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43. Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall." With every word Steve spoke his guilt just intensified. She knew all about Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, she's been to the Smithsonian before. So she knew that Steve most likely blamed himself for Bucky's fall from the train.

Steve let out a sigh as he spoke again. "They must have found him, and..." the man trailed off, not willing to finish his own sentence.

"None of that's your fault, Steve." Natasha argued as if knowing what he was thinking. The woman was quickly growing pale, her eyes threatening to close.

Not responding to her just yet, Steve glanced Natasha's way and shook his head sadly. "Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky." No one said anything for a moment not knowing how to respond.

Glancing toward Natasha, Sam's eyes widened when he saw blood slowly trickling out of the wound on her shoulder. The tourniquet that Elizabeth had once tied now lay discarded on the floor. When Sam's eyes met Elizabeth's, they soften as he took note of what she was doing. With every wince Natasha made, she mimicked it as she rubbed at her wrist.

"We need a doctor in here," Sam told one of the guards. When neither of the two responded, he groaned and shook his head. "If we don't put more pressure on that wound she's gonna bleed out right here."

The guard who sat closest to Sam took out an electric shock baton from their pocket, threatening him with it. Elizabeth had made a move to intercept but Steve stopped her by moving his shoulder so that it was in front of her. Catching her glare that said to move out of the way, he shook his head at her.

Slumping back into her seat, she watched as the guard jumped into action. Quickly changing their position, they tased the other guard in the truck. Everyone watched as the guard went unconscious and fell to the ground. The driver in the front seat oblivious to the commotion happening behind.

Taking of their helmet, underneath the suit was a woman with dark hair tied up into a bun. Steve and Natasha recognised her as Maria Hill from SHIELD, happy to see her. "God," Maria began as she held the helmet in her lap. "That thing was squeezing my brains."

She sent a nod to both Steve and Natasha before looking toward Sam and Elizabeth skeptically. "Who's this?"

"Sam Wilson," he answered. "I'd shake your hand but," Sam held up both his caged hands to prove his point.

"I'm Agent Hill," she told the two who still looked at her questioningly, not knowing who she was. Fishing around in her pockets for the keys to the handcuffs. Noticing how Elizabeth didn't introduce herself she narrowed her eyes. "And you?"

Elizabeth hadn't realised the woman was talking to her until she saw everyone turn to her. "Oh," she started. "I'm Elizabeth, Elizabeth Grace."

Maria raised an eyebrow at the familiar name. "A Grace?" Elizabeth nodded unsure of where this is going. "Huh, I must've met your brothers a while back."

Tensing up at the mention of her brothers she tilted her head, not quite sure of she heard her correctly. "What?" Steve and Natasha looked at her confusedly, not aware that she had brothers.

"Yeah," Maria said as she unlocked the handcuffs on Sam. "Met those two in Prague about a year ago, needed to find out some stuff. You know, you look like them."

Unable to construct a full sentence, she just nodded with a blank stare. It completely and utterly baffled her how this woman in front of her had seen her brothers more recently than she had. Elizabeth had pushed those two to the furthest part of her mind so that she didn't have to think about them.

Yet, they managed to find their way back to the front of her mind. Taking note of her distressed state, Sam reached over Steve and shoved her lightly on the shoulder. She turned her head over to him as he gave her a questioning glance. Nodding her head to tell him she was alright, she watched as Sam unlocked the cuffs on Steve.

Before she knew it, Steve was helping her out of her restrictions sending her a wary glance wondering what was going on in her head. Elizabeth watched as Maria Hill carved a large whole in the center of the floor of the car.

The imperfect circle fell through the floor and onto the road below with a loud clang. They could see the blur of the road below as the car kept it's speed. Elizabeth stood up and walked over to the hole in the car as she crouched down by it.

A small gust of wind blew her hair lightly. Maria walked over to her and smirked as she jutted her chin toward the hole, "After you."
