After senior prank night, a lot of stuff happened, not that Ada was included in any of it. Ada's senior year of high school started, dead supernaturals appeared all over town, and Mikeal came to town to try to kill Klaus. When Ada heard the plan, it sounded foolproof, but of course, Klaus cheated death again. That wasn't to say that Ada necessarily liked the plan, she knew the damage a father could do, and using Klauses father against him was a low blow, but on the other hand, he was a mass murder so, maybe it was a deserving fate.

It was a nice Sunday afternoon, and Ada sat in the forest sketching. She sat in front of a daisy, with a butterfly perfectly positioned on top of it, and she feared if she breathed too hard, the butterfly would leave. As Ada sketched, she hoped that she could do justice to the true beauty of the scene. It was a rare moment when everything was just as it was supposed to be, and if Ada didn't capture it correctly, this moment would never be remembered. When it came to something like this, a picture probably would have sufficed, but Ada found the tiniest bit of solace in the rough lines and the fact that not every detail had to be precise, and if anything brought joy into Ada's life, she held onto it tightly.

Then, in an instant, the flower died and the butterfly flew away. Ada only had to raise her head the tiniest bit to see why the flower was dead, and standing directly across from her was Stefan Salvatore.

"What do you want?"

"I need your help" Stefan answered

Ada laughed "No"

"We are trying to open the fourth coffin-"He started but Ada cut him off

"I know exactly what you're doing, and my answer remains the same, No" Ada stood up and started to gather her stuff "Did you even think about what might be in that coffin?" Ada snapped

"Whatever or whoever is in there will help us kill Klaus" Stefan argued back, clearly annoyed by Ada's stubbornness

"I didn't know that turning off your humanity made you lose your common sense too, cmon, you and I both know Klaus wouldn't just lug around some random that tried to kill him"

As Ada started to leave, Stefan wrapped his hand around her throat and pushed her against a tree.

"What are you playing at Ada?" Stefan said with rage in his eyes

Ada's heart rate didn't even increase, she grabbed Stefan's arm, siphoned his power, and had him on his knees clutching his head in seconds.

"You know Stefan, I don't particularly like being used, especially by ungrateful vampires like you" Ada smirked as Stefan let out a pained groan

"So next time you come begging for my help, don't underestimate me" She lowered herself to his level, and whispered in his ear

"As for what I'm playing at, just use that pretty little head of yours and answer this question for me, who is the missing Mikealson?"

With that, Ada flicked her wrist, snapping Stefan's neck.

"You know, at some point, you're going to have to learn to like people who aren't me," she said, throwing popcorn at Ada's face

"That's never going to happen" laughed Ada

"No, I'm serious Ads, what if something goes horribly wrong and we can't be together anymore, what are you going to do? And don't you dare say you'll just off yourself" she said with a serious tone in her voice

Ada knew she got like this sometimes, paranoid, anxious, always preparing for the worst. And even though it annoyed the hell out of Ada sometimes, it was also one of the reasons Ada loved her so much, because they were opposites, and they completed each other.

"Honestly," Ada said as she moved closer to her

"I have no idea what I would do" Ada pressed her forehead against hers

"So I hope it never comes down to that" Ada finishes

"Me too," she says, and a smile spreads across her face, the kind that never failed to melt Ada's cold heart

Then, Ada closes the space between them, and at that moment, Ada wished she could sketch their kiss, to make sure it would never be forgotten.

Ada sat in the very back corner of the grill sipping a tall coffee, that was 50% vodka but made her feel like a hipster nonetheless. Stefan had seriously spoiled her mode, she hated being used, especially by Caroline's friends. They ignored her, gave her death stares, and talked shit about her on the daily, yet when they needed her to siphon something, it was like they were besties. To make sure that Ada didn't accidentally murder someone if they said the wrong thing to her, she desperately tried to focus on her sketch. Ada knew the sketch wouldn't be as good, she only had the memory to go off of, but she hoped it would still capture the moment. Under most of Ada's drawings was a note or quote Ada thought was fitting, because words were art too, just drawn in a unique way. For this photo though, Ada was quite stumped, nothing seemed to fit it correctly.

Maybe if Ada hadn't been so deep in thought, she would have noticed when someone sat down directly opposite of her. The person watched inquisitively as Ada shaded and erased, trying to perfect a simple drawing. When Ada finally decided there was nothing more to be done to the sketch, she realized that she wasn't alone.

"How long have you been there?"

"Quite a while, Ada was it?" Klaus replied

"What do you want?" Ada scowled, she really wasn't in the mood today

"Do you like to draw?" He smirked, motioning to Ada's sketchbook. Ada gathered her things to leave, she was not doing this today "go bother someone else"

Before Ada could get past him, he grabbed her arm

"Adaline, sit down" his smirk was gone, how the hell did he know her full name?

Ada hated when people called her Adaline, it was too similar to Caroline, but it seemed to roll off Klaus's tongue remarkably well, and it sent a shiver down Ada's spine. She turned around and plopped back down in the chair.

"What do you want?" Klaus's amused grin reappeared

"Well, I just saw you sitting here all alone and thought I would offer you some company" he was clearly amused by how annoyed Ada was with his blatant lies

"I've been manipulated enough times to know when someone wants something from me, and let me just say, and the pretending to be my friend isn't my favourite tactic," Ada said bitterly, she was getting tired of this game

"What tactic do you like the best?"

"Honesty" Ada replied

"Do you know where Stefan is keeping my family?"

"Ah!" Ada started slow clapping "how hard was that?" She leaned back in her chair

"I don't know if you've realized Klaus, but I'm not very popular" Ada scoffed

"I didn't think they would tell you because they trusted you," Klaus said

"Stefan approached me" Ada started "but I turned down his offer, he didn't use the magic word" Ada shook her and clicked her tongue "I swear teens these days have no manners," She said sarcastically, making Klaus chuckle

Then it hit Ada, she grabbed her sketchbook and scrawled down a small note under her drawing

How do you define a monster?

Ada grabbed her stuff and stood up

"Sorry I couldn't help you find your family," she pushed in her chair "Better luck next time"
