"At which part did you forget to specify that making up with you would mean I have to do manual labour for prissy beauty queens" Ada huffed from behind the two boxes she was carrying, which were taller than her head

"Oh I'm sorry, did you not read the fine print?" Caroline laughed, holding her clipboard, looking very organized indeed "put them over here" she pointed to a table that Ada could see out of the corner of her eye

Ada moved towards the table, lowering the boxes down, down, down, until they safely sat on the table. "Tada" Ada took a bow and Caroline just rolled her eyes "great, now please unpack them" and suddenly Caroline whisked herself away to do other planning

Unstacking the two boxes, Ada ripped her fingers through the tape impatiently, wanting to be done already. Opening the cardboard flaps, Ada peeked inside the boxes, champagne flutes. Grumbling to herself Ada picked up the box and made her way outside.

Stopping at the drink table, where bottles of champagne and other beverages sat, Ada put down her box and started unpacking, making sure the flutes were all in a straight line, in a perfect square, not wanting to face Caroline's wrath for messing something up.

Slipping into the mundane movements, Ada hummed to herself, daydreaming about what she was going to do when she got home. She should probably start attending school again, compelled principal or not, Ric always lectured Ada on the importance of school, and she kinda wanted to feel like she earned it when she graduated. Even just a little bit.

When Ada ran out of flutes, she turned to walk back into the house to grab the second box. Lost in her own world, Ada slammed right into someone "ah" Ada stumbled backwards "I'm so sorry"

Looking up, Ada just rolled her eyes "oh, it's just you"

Klaus smirked, unconsciously showing off those adorable fucking dimples that made Ada just- "I was looking for you"

"Is that so?" Ada questioned, brushing past him on her quest for the second box of champagne flutes, while Klaus trailed behind her

Klaus leaned on the table as Ada picked up the second, and final box "I was promised a date"

"I remember" Ada mumbled as she picked up the box and started to exit the house again, but just as she got to the stairs, Klaus pulled the box out of her hands

"Where do you want me to put it?" Ada stood there for a second, confused about what he was asking, then pointed to the drink table

Ada scampered after Klaus, miffed that he was carrying it so easily, it wasn't like the box was heavy, but Ada wasn't an immortal hybrid. What a show-off.

Meeting him at the table, Ada snatched back the box, unpacking it and trying to pretend Klaus didn't exist at all "Do you have a date to this event?" What a prick, his arrogant smile already told Ada that he knew she didn't

Ada scoffed "Yeah I'm not going, watching girls dance around while random weirdos pick one that's life achievements and attractiveness is the highest? No thank you" Also, April was entering, and Ada didn't want to ruin her special day by being there

"Oh cmon, it could be fun" he nudged her slightly "you'll never know until you try"

Ada gritted her teeth, pursuing her lips as she turned to face him, one hand on her hip "I have tried, and I already know I'm going to want to blow my brains out"

"True, but this time I'll be there" Ada didn't look even the slightest bit amused

"Don't get too full of yourself, you might just choke on that ego of yours and never get that date" she turned back to the champagne flutes
