If two points are destined to touch, the universe will always find a way to make the connection- even when all hope seems to be lost. Certain ties cannot be broken. They define who we are- and who we can become. Across space, across time, among paths we cannot predict- the universe always finds a way.
The sun bloomed on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards into the royal blue, filling the sky with shades of peach and amber. Bianca's gaze cast towards the ocean, lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves on sand. Her eyes are steady to the horizon, face aglow with the last orange rays before twilight beckoned the stars. Her lips bear the semblance of a smile and JJ shifts closer wordlessly so that she feels his presence, allowing him to stay lost in the moment a while longer.
"We're gonna melt down the bricks so they're not traceable and take it to the pawnshop and after that," The blond boy hummed, his hair tousled in the salty air.
"How many bars?" Bianca glanced over at him, tearing her gaze away from the waves crashing against the shore.
"I don't know," JJ continued, "John B said it was all muddy- maybe like six hundred."
"Six hundred bars of gold?" Bianca gaped.
"Could be a thousand," The boy shrugged, "He said it was covering the walls, stacks of it. Four hundred million dollars, B," He scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief.
"So, what now?" Bianca hummed, casting her gaze towards the boy.
"Well, Pope had a plan, which involves a pulley system-"
"No, stupid," Bianca laughed lightly, "I meant what are we going to do right now?"
"Oh," JJ frowned slightly, "I don't know."
"I don't really want to go home," Bianca admitted under her breath, facing her mother and father didn't sound all do appealing to her. She didn't want this dream to end- where her and her scooby-gang of pogues were four hundred million richer only to wake up and find out she was stuck in a loop of the same nightmare.
It was funny, how near death-experiences showed you how to live. If running away from Ms Crain and her buckshot taught JJ Maybank anything it was that he had to spent every day, every second, ever fleeting moment just living. He didn't want regrets. And he didn't want Bianca to be one of them.
So when Bianca suggested that they don't go home just yet, who was JJ to deny the Kook Princess. They dropped the Pogues and Sarah back to their respective residencies while John B- reluctantly- agreed to let JJ take the Twinkie for the night. He managed drive them down to the beach, push the backseat forward and sit in the back of the van with Bianca, who was wearing his hoodie, the cool breeze flowing by them.
