"He said it looked something like this," Kiara muttered as Sarah and Bianca hunched over the pencil-drawn map in John B's van.

"That's 50 feet down, and they're using 100-feet rope," She continued, tracing over the squiggled line on the poorly-drawn diagram of how the group were going to get the gold out of the well.

"What's that?" Sarah pointed towards a small box looking shape.

"A wagon- I guess it'll go to straight to the gold room."

A soft laugh escaped Bianca's lips as she watched the Carrera girl struggle to explain what the map meant, "Who drew this?"

"Who do you think?" She giggled and Sarah followed her gaze towards where Pope was sitting beside John B and JJ, the boys talking away animatedly.

Bianca smiled at them, her mind lost in thought until Sarah scoffed, "B- you smell like weed."

JJ wasn't looking up when he interrupted the girls, rubbing a raggedy old towel of the bar of gold in his hand, "Kie this better work- we can't pawn this off if there's a giant wheat symbol on it-"

Kiara grabbed the bar from JJ with a scoff, "It's going to work," She gave the boy a pointed look before waltzing off to melt it down.

"Hell of a job melting it down, Dr Frankenstein," JJ scoffed, holding the half-melted gold in his hand with a towel wrapped around it.

"Like you could've done better," Kiara narrowed her eyes at the boy as the group piled out of the van parked in front of the pawn shop while Sarah snickered from behind her.

"I could have done much better!" JJ turned to her, "I took a welding class-"

"When?" She shrugged at him, her voice raised in annoyance, "When have you ever done that?"

Suddenly, John B shushed them, "Yo- chill out, okay?"

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one that has to pawn this piece of shit off," JJ huffed before heading to the front entrance of the pawn shop, "How did I get this job anyway?"

"'Cause you're the best liar," Pope continued, holding the door open for the girls to step through, "And B has an unnaturally good ability to get what she wants- JJ told us about the speeding ticket."

"Yeah," Bianca hummed, her lips pulled into a frown, "What am I supposed to do again?"

The bell overhead the doorway jingled as the group stepped through, an old African-American woman standing idly at the cash register. The room was filled various random objects and 'sale' signs.
