Alex pulled me back over to the sofa, I was lying down with my head on his chest and I could feel every time he breathed.
" tell me a secret " Alex said while brushing the hair out of my face.
" you first" I said because I had no idea what secret to tell.
" okay, I have a tattoo "
I looked up at him confused.
" where ?"
" here " he said lifting up his shirt, on his lower left side there was a heartbeat line tattooed on.
I was surprised I hadn't seen it before.
" it's the heartbeat patten that my brother had just before he.. Uh died. "
" your bother?" I asked confused
" yeah, I had a brother who was 3 years older than me, we were really close" Alex said looking down. I could tell this was something that was hurting him.
" what happened?"
" he got shot"

I had a lot more questions but I could tell he hated to talk about it so I kissed his cheek instead.

Alex cleared his throat. " it's your turn "
" I told you everything last night."
" oh right, does anyone else know?"
" Uh, May."
" what?! Why does she know"
" we were best friends in middle school, and believe it or not she wasn't such a bitch back then."
" I don't believe it " he said smirking and kissing me.
