all i see, all i ever saw

au: you live in a black and white world, where you see colour only when you meet your soulmate but when they die, the colours leave along with them.

all i see,
all i ever saw
were colours of charcol and ivory
glass like people,
dive with me, free fall

"normality is a paved road:
it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow"
i recall the words of van gogh
all i ever saw,
were people that come to go
live to show, colourless
with sickness overdressed

the day we met,
a beam refracted
and like the flowers of death,
created a life oh so attractive
in the artistic era of the romantics
i made you my art,
gifted you to the dramatics

i saw colour and
fire was crimson,
made for lovers and people of arson
blue was peace,
a lifelong treason
green were the trees,
and brown were the teas,
white sugar, sweet
in a time when you were with me

and now the colours cease,
shades of greys and blacks return,
the frays and gloomy days return
a stranger informed - me about my own deformed place

shut the window of the refracted beam's origin
arms twisted together,
welcome back the black and white division
my muse, my aggressor

the pigmented flowers of death,
drown along with you in the waters depth

all i ever saw,
all i see
are things children in love draw - like we did when we first saw fire
red, raw
and simply dire

when i try to ride the colourless rainbow,
you left when i let your train go
it stops and throws,
tantrums to black and white phantoms,

like the likes of me
and everything we saw,
it's everything i ever see.
