❦→[callous]

a whimsical urge
stirred in pots of cruel conduct
only ever led to spilled poison purge

shiny are the souls,
drinking and eating from golden bowls
but never more — than those refusing to play the role
for they, are callous
and callous might be their prayers,
for clearing a cage of malice
takes more than built up rage from the last few years

"if you pardon,
we will mend"
nay, one could never defend
that they're all asked to sit in a garden,
and be a quite muse
if only to slash the nape of one friendly ruse,
hoping for another exile of abuse

the way we say our names,
repeats at the entrance like vile prison terms
all you can do is watch as the hour rains
and humidifies into that which curls,
the circus of us

none around here is to be seen with a frown,
isn't it enough?
you've got your paper scripts and tree crowns
frown only if revelation is that which you're thinking of

when the death of priorities strike
what are we to do with our borrowed might?
as the age old strength drops from weary butterfingers
the question clearly still lingers — and haunts each mirror reflecting summer,
for at the death of each priority
you shall choose another
if you can't question divinity,
question why must every sky loose its colour?

what then, is the fault in callous nature?
for in the end,
only the worst kind collect charms to fit the braclet of their satanic flames
what purpose does it serve, being a creature
of all the memories that slip away from your arms?
