Chapter Twenty-Four
Callie's POV
"Can you please tell me what we're doing here?" I questioned.
Niall pulled me into another taxi cab, and pointed to another place on the map.
"We're seeing Berlin, Callie Bear," he said as it were obvious.
"But we've been to every landmark! I want to go back to the bus!"
"No, Taryn! We're going to have fun! We haven't even been to the Berlin Wall yet!"
I sighed, "Why does everyone call me that what they're angry?"
"I'm not angry," Niall cooed, "I just really want to see Germany."
"For three hours?"
"Yes."
I sighed and allowed Niall to drag me out of the car once again. I walked ahead of Niall, taking some pictures with my phone. I heard him talking to someone, but I wasn't paying much attention. This landmark is actually pretty cool.
"Come on, Callie. We're going home."
I spun around and raised an eyebrow, "What the fuck?! I've been begging for two hours, but as soon as I start enjoying myself, NOW it's time to go?! You sick, twisted fuck!"
Niall grinned, "Love you, babe!"
"Shut up," I growled.
We got back into the cab, and drove back to the bus. I pushed the bus door open, and suddenly someone's arms were around me, lifting me up off the ground.
"TARYN!" he cried, and I squealed.
"ANDREW?!"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
I looked over Andrew's shoulder and saw the girls and the lads grinning at me. I looked back at Niall, but he wasn't smiling. He was just eyeing Andrew suspiciously.
"I can't believe you're here!" I cried, not letting go of my childhood best friend.
"Charlotte invited me," he said, and I gave Charlotte an appreciative smile.
"You guys are...friends?" Niall questioned, trying to be calm.
"Ya, forever," Andrew grinned, "Though, I haven't seen her since she left Dublin."
I just grinned at Andrew; words could not describe how happy I was to see him. We grew up together, since we started grade school. I haven't seen him in months, though.
"Happy birthday, Callie," Louis said, "Now who's up for cake?"
***
Niall and I sat with each other on the couch after everyone else was asleep. I sat up, while Niall lied down, his head in my lap. I played with his hair mindlessly as a Bon Jovi song played softly in the background.
"Happy birthday, babe," he said, and I smiled.
"Thanks. It was a good day."
"Ya. Aside from one thing."
"I'm guessing you've got that one thing?"
Niall smiled, "I see what you did there."
I laughed and pushed the blonde hair out of his eyes, causing Niall to laugh with me. He reached down under the couch, and pulled out a small box. It wasn't wrapped, aside from a little red bow on the top.
"What is this?" I questioned, curiosity creeping through my mind.
"A little something to wish you a happy 18th," Niall said simply. I opened the velvet-covered box, and my eyes widened. Sitting on the white silk were two shamrock earrings. They were encrusted with little emeralds, which sat in a white gold outline.
"They're gorgeous," I said softly.
Niall reached up and stroked my chin, "Just like you."
"I'm going to ignore the cheesy line you just said," I stated, "Thank you, Nialler."
"You're welcome, Callie Bear."
I put the earrings on, before going back to messing up Niall's hair as best I could.
"So...you and Andrew are pretty good friends, huh?" Niall questioned casually.
"Ya, the best. It sucks he could only stay for the day," I sighed sadly.
"Ya...so, um, did you guys ever...you know...date?"
A smirk played on my lips, "You wouldn't happen to be jealous, would you?"
Niall scoffed, "Whaaat? Noooo!"
I laughed, "Why would you be jealous?"
"Have you seen the guy?" he questioned, "He could throw me over his shoulder with one hand, WHILE he causes ten girls to faint."
"Andrew has always been the ladies man. That doesn't mean it worked on me. You don't have to feel threatened."
"Don't have to feel threatened? I have every reason to feel threatened!" Niall cried as he sat up, "I've never had any self confidence, but I thought...maybe... I don't know..."
"Niall, I don't like Andrew that way. I don't find him that attractive," I told Niall honestly.
"How?! You saw Rae and Paris flirting with him all night."
"Why is this so important?" I asked.
"Because if you know guys like Andrew, then it makes me wonder why you're still with me."
I was shocked by Niall's words, but I ended up laughing in his face. He frowned at me reaction, but I couldn't help it.
"Nialler, if I were to dump you for THAT, I would have to be both shallow and stupid. You're the guy I'm dating, and you're perfect to me."
"Aren't you just full of One Direction quotes today," Niall teased as he pulled me close.
I shrugged, "Then let me kiss you."
He grinned and placed his lips on mine, starting gentle, but quickly turning it deeper and more passionate. I smiled when we broke apart, running my fingers through his hair again.
"You're amazing," he whispered.
"Just the way you are," I teased.
"Does Bruno Mars really have to ruin the moment?"
"Yes."
"Well, you're still amazing," he stated.
"Why the sudden lovey-dovey Niall?" I questioned.
Niall grinned, "I'm just the underdog who finally got the girl. And I am not ashamed to tell it to the world."
I rolled my eyes at the cheesiness, but secretly, I loved it. I loved everything about Niall. Besides maybe the whole "eating animals" thing, but that was a small detail. I really can't believe he's mine.
Just to be sure, I kissed him again, and he happily kissed back.
