(Yuki's POV)

"Remember, once a Kahuna's Pokémon is unable to continue, it doesn't mean the battle is over. You must defeat the chosen Tapu." I nod my head, which the Kahuna of Melemele Island sees. "Alright then. Grand Trial, BEGIN!"

"Double Team, MAXIMUM!" The two of us had a plan and we weren't going to waste any time putting it into motion. The once regular colored ninja frog turned black used the move 6 times, somewhat exceeding the amount of clones he's known for per moment in any given battle. With 6 red glows, each per single use, Greninja maxed out his evasion. Step one of the plan complete.

-Flashback: Strategy Meeting Part 2-

"If we take on Hala right away, we would have to worry too much about being hit by a fighting-type move. I think it would be better if we set up beforehand."

'I agree, but why not the other two?'

"It's simple really. Compared to the other choices..." I imagined the basic stats of the 3 Pokémon we have type advantage with. I pointed to speed. "Mudstale is the slowest and least likely to be able to complete an attack before we max out your evasion with Double Team. Our first priority will be ending this particular battle with little to no damage."

'Makes sense. We'll be battling for a long time, after all.'

The images shifted a bit again, but this time, each of their Pokémon's possible abilities were shown, along with the ability I know Mudstale had in the anime highlighted. "If this still stands, our next attack won't change the tides any further for this battle... but will give us an advantage for the upcoming ones."

-End of Flashback-

Hapu seemed to quickly realize what my plan was, but in my opinion, somewhat too late. "Mudstale, Bulldoze!"

As the Draft Horse Pokémon began its motions, Greninja was already jumping in the air; right fist glowing and pulled back, left fist beginning to glow. I mimicked the movements of the fists. "Power-up Punch!"

At the peak of Mudstale's stomp to bulldoze the ground, Greninja quickly, but lightly, punched the Pokémon in question 6 times: four to the lower back and two at once on the upper. Each hit, Mudstale's defense went up, but so did our attack.

I knew it, Mudstale still had Stamina as it's ability. I thought to myself. Now all we need to do is defe-

"Bulldoze again!" Mudstale began charging at Greninja, in which I just said to jump and use a few Water Shuriken's. Bulldoze isn't very effective on Greninja. Why is she spamming a not very effecti-

Then it dawned on me. "GRENINJA, FINISH IT WITH A POWERFUL WATER SHURIKEN!" A few powerful hits from a distance and Mudstale was out for the count.

"Mudstale is unable to battle." Hala made the call.

"Aww." Hapu seemed upset, but as she turned away, a little grin popped on her face. "You caught on a bit faster then I would of hoped. Even one little hit could of been fatal."

Yeah... one hit would of been fatal in the long run. Bulldoze lowers your speed every time it makes contact. A move similar to Power-Up Punch, one that raises the users attack. The two of us... speed is a HUGE part of our battle style. Can't believe I forgot about that! I'll have to research more moves after the trial...

_____

Within seconds, Kahuna Hala and Hapu switch places. The fighting-type user sent out Hariyama.

"Since this is non-stop battle and you're in full fighting stance..." I had a little grin on my face, already prepared to say our next move "Arial Ace!"

If I remember the moves from the anime... and if they are the same... He's gonna use Fake Ou-

"Protect." The Melemele Kahuna spoke calmly. Greninja's leg bounced off of a impenetrable shield of sorts. How does one make damage impossible...? There are just some moves I'll never understand no matter how many times I look at them...

As my partner's webbed feet hit the ground, I was unable to avoid what I feared. It's a move I knew that Pokémon had: Starts with 'Belly' and ends with 'Drum.'
