~gabriella insists on mae going all out, saying that ranboo would love it, but mae knows anything she wears will be destroyed because ranboo would beg her to dance in the rain after prom
~gabriella finally convinces mae to actually buy a decent dress, so the next day she invited hannah to help her pick out a dress

"Oh my god you're stunning."
"Thank you Hannah!"
~on the other hand, ranboo was panicking on what suit to wear
~he'd spend hours on facetime with tubbo, tommy, and jack trying to plan out prom night and make it the most memorable for mae
~neither tubbo or tommy made good suggestions, but jack, being the big brother he is, knew exactly what to do
tubbo- "What even is the point of prom?"
tommy- "To get girls."
ranboo- "Shut up!"
jack- "Mae loves it when you wear the pink suit, just use that one."
ranboo- "How'd you know that?"
jack- "She won't fucking shut up about you when I'm calling her."
~after hours of planning, ranboo was able to finish his plan
~the day of prom, ranboo basically froze when he saw mae walk down the stairs to greet him
"I-"
"What?"
"You're stunning."
"I know, so are you."
~lina took the prom pictures, which took ages because ranboo is almost an entire foot taller than mae
"Why is this taking so long?"
"Ranboo doesn't fit in frame."
"Ranboo, I love you, but please, for the love of god, shrink."
~eveline gave ranboo a pep talk before they left because they knew ranboo was nervous he wouldn't reach mae's expectations
"What if I don't reach her expectations? This is her only prom, and if I'm being honest, I forgot about it."
"Listen, I know you doubt yourself when it comes to Mae, but she's more than content with your relationship already," Eveline chuckled. "Mae told me once that she believes soulmates are real, and she's met hers already. If she was given the chance, I'm more than sure she'd be willing to spend the rest of her life with you."

~ranboo and mae eventually made it to prom and they immediately ate at least half the stock of cheesecake
~after eating, they danced

~they fucking killed the slow-dance
~ranboo and mae were awarded cutest couple instead of prom queen and king. they didn't really care about awards anyways
~after most of prom was over, ranboo and mae finished the night off by dancing in the field behind their houses
~it started raining, and mae got mad about her dress, but ranboo knows she can't resist his pouting face
"I'm supposed to be mad at you but you're holding my face and smiling and I just can't fucking resist that."
~as always, ranboo points out the stars
