cousin: "[y/n], you have to unlock your door sometime."
[Y/N unlocks door]
cousin: "Finally. I'm coming in."
[COUSIN enters Y/N's room]
cousin: "Hey."
(silence)
cousin: "Talk to me."
(silence)
cousin: "Please?"
(silence)
cousin: "Okay. Listen to me, then. I think there's a lot that you've been keeping from me, but I'm not angry about it."
y/n: "...you're not?"
cousin: "No. Just tell me if I'm correct or not."
y/n: (whispers) "Okay."
cousin: "Taehyun likes me."
y/n: "Yes."
cousin: "Oh, god... and he asked you for help about it?"
y/n: "Yes."
cousin: "Was he meeting up with me to tell me he liked me, not to tell me he liked you?"
y/n: "Yes."
cousin: "How did this even happen? I didn't even do anything."
y/n: "You're effortless."
cousin: "So are you. Look at me."
y/n: "What?"
cousin: "Are you mad at me?"
y/n: "No. I'm just..." (sighs) I don't know what to do."
cousin: "But you did do something. You kissed him."
y/n: "I did."
cousin: "After all these years."
y/n: "I know."
cousin: "So... why are you slumped on your bed like this?"
y/n: "It didn't feel the way I thought it would."
cousin: "The kiss?"
y/n: "Yes. I felt all this adrenaline before it happened, and then while it was actually happening I felt... like my mouth was just against his, and that was it."
cousin: "Just an action, like bending down to scratch an itch on your knee or picking up a pencil."
y/n: "Right."
cousin: "And then when he didn't say anything, you literally ran away and I had to drive after you to figure out what the hell was going on."
y/n: "I'm so sorry about that."
cousin: "That's okay. I just wish you'd told me so that I could've helped stop the situation from becoming so... complicated."
y/n: "Everything feels so complicated. I mean, this whole time I've always liked Taehyun and now..."
cousin: "Now, you don't?"
y/n: "I'm not sure."
cousin: "Is it the kiss?"
y/n: "No, it's not just that. Everything just feels different. I don't know."
aunt: "[y/n]? There's someone on the phone for you. Taehyun?"
y/n: "Oh, no."
cousin: "Why is he calling the landline?"
y/n: "Because I turned off my phone."
cousin: "Weren't you supposed to wait for Hueningkai after school?"
y/n: "Shit."
aunt: "[y/n]?"
cousin: "I'll handle it."
y/n: "Please don't say anything to him."
cousin: "I won't. I'll just tell my mom that you're busy, and she'll hang up."

[Y/N turns on cellphone]
y/n: "Come on, pick up... pick up..."
hueningkai: "Hey, it's Hueningkai. I'm not available, but please leave a message after the beep."
y/n: "Hueningkai, it's [y/n]. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to wait for you after school. Um... something came up. I'm home now, but let me know if you're on the way home. Okay. Bye."
aunt: "Hueningkai, there you are. It's nearly dinner time."
[Y/N runs out of bedroom]
hueningkai: "Sorry, I--"
y/n: "Hueningkai!"
hueningkai: "Hey."
y/n: "I'm so sorry, I wasn't able to--"
hueningkai: "It's fine."
aunt: "We've ordered pizza for dinner. It should be here in a couple of minutes!"
hueningkai: "I'm still full. I had a pretty big lunch. I think I'll just chill and go to bed."
aunt: "Already? But it's so early."
hueningkai: "I'll definitely pack pizza for lunch, though."
aunt: "Alright. In that case, get some rest. You look exhausted."
y/n: "Hueningkai."
hueningkai: "Hm?"
y/n: "Um... I'm really sorry I didn't wait for you. Something happened and I just wasn't think--"
hueningkai: "It's fine."
y/n: "Okay..." (clears throat) "Did you have a good penmanship meeting?"
hueningkai: "I really am tired."
y/n: "Oh. Right. Sorry. Go ahead and get some rest then."
