The alarm was sounded on the Liberty Belle.
The crew came rushing, people tumbled and fell.
There were two horse riders, coming through the mist.
"What's all fuss!" shouted Bart, sounding a little pissed.
A small army became ready, and guns were raised.
But Bart wasn't fazed.
"What idiot rang that bell?
It's just a couple of drifters on horseback, not a couple of bats outta hell.
So put lower those guns.
Before you have to tell someone's mothers what you did to their sons."
Little did he know they might have shot Mum and Dad.
He never would have guessed, it looked like the drifter's journey had been bad.
They looked like a couple of scarecrows, who had been dragged backward, through a field of hay.
Not the kind of people, he'd be inclined to ask to stay.

He was just about to send them on their way when Shadow said. "Steady on Bart, can't you see it's Mum and Dad?"
"You got to be kidding me, I've never seen them looking so bad."
In flash, Brett ran across the gangplank in a sprint and was rushing toward the riders.
He slapped Denver's boot as he rushed past, he wanted to see his Mum, and didn't stop until beside her.

Ain't that bloody typical, thought Denver, what have I got to do to get some attention around here.
"Aren't you gonna welcome us on board", he said with a little sneer?
With a grouch, he slipped, from his saddle.
Wow, he felt like he'd been hit by the Liberty Belle's paddle.
He wasn't expecting Shadow's lunging hug, which had taken him completely by surprise.
Her welcoming hugs and kisses brought tears to his eyes.

But Bart, as serious as ever, asked "Where's Jhonny?
He was supposed to bring you back here on the trap and pony."
Missy reached out her arms, "Oh Bart don't be so serious, come here and give me a hug."
He was reticent but it was nothing she couldn't overcome with a little tug.
"Well, come on let's get aboard son.
We can't wait to see what you guys have done."
