Mr. and Mrs. Stone
"This town is bizarre
Children rush all over
And imaginary fires out of nowhere"
Mrs. Stone whispered to her husband.
"Don't fuss, Wilma.
Let's get off the street."
Mr. Stone signaled his wife
That a stranger stood nearby.
The lobby was now sparse
The guests all back in their rooms
They took a quick look around
As they ascend the stairs.
There was commotion
Outside the main hall
The guest of honors were delayed
and the management was in a state.
"What drama! All for a reception
But that deputy and her posse
Late for the special occasion.
It'll be easy to fool these folk,"
Mrs. Stone perched on the bed
As her husband locked the door.
"Don't be deceived Wilma,
These small town's folks, they're sly foxes.
"We'll go to Tent City tomorrow,
Right after dawn.
Is it the girl or the boy,
Which one do we want?"
"The girl is too young,
The boy, he could work the mine
Or the fields as you please.
I think his name is Ronald."
Mrs. Stone strolled over
And kissed her husband's lips
Both of them were pleased with their plan
And were convinced of their success.
