11:29 PM and I'm fiddling with paperwork from my recent job promotion. I was now general overseer of 4 casual/fast food restaurants. I was proud of myself, but this paperwork was beginning to annoy the shit out of me.
I got up to get a drink from the kitchen when I heard a hard tap at my window. I looked over to see if it would happen again. Damn pesky squirrels throwin' shit. I continued to the direction of the kitchen when I heard the same tap again. This time repeatedly hitting the window. Eventually I'd have enough of the damn taps and went to see what was hitting the window. I opened the window and heard my name being screamed.
"MYLES! MYLES! I WANNA SEE YOU!! MYLES!"
It was Tae outside throwing rocks at my window.
"Tae what are you doing here? What do you want?"
I said as calmly as I could.
"I wanna see you." He said, words mixing together.
"Are you drunk Tae?" I asked, with the roll of my eyes.
"Where yo' man at?"
"In my guts. Go away." I said as I closed the window.
Tae continued to throw shit at my window and it was really starting to piss me off.
"Tae, if you break my window I'ma shoot yo' ass. GO AWAY! What do you want?!"
"Talk to me. Please."
A small part of me felt bad for him, but the bigger part of me hoped he slip and fall in his own drool.
Reluctantly I gave in.
"5 minutes." I said as I closed the window.
I walked downstairs to the parking lot, where Tae was leaning against his car.
He started to approach me with his arms extended as soon as he saw me.
I think the fuck not.
"You are not getting a hug from me, Richard. You got 4 minutes. Talk."
"I love you."
"And now you got one minute." I said annoyed at his candor.
"Please, I fucked up. Take me back like the old days."
I softly caressed his face with my hand.
"You broke my heart, Richard. When I had no intentions on breaking yours. I will never take you back."
I saw the hurt in his eyes with each passing word. A hurt I couldn't sympathize with. A hurt I felt was well deserved.
I stroked his cheek one more time.
"Goodbye, love."
I walked back up the stairs and heard the sound of an engine roar behind me.
Guess reality set in made him sober. I can imagine it would.
I closed the door behind me as I walked in. Right as I started to lock it I heard a loud screech and a powerful bang.
I looked out the window to see if I could see what happened.
I peeked back the curtains and my mouth immediately dropped.
It was Tae's car.
