"Rabiya Occeña Mateo, Philippines!" I said with a smile on my face.
I am here now at the camp practicing my introduction for the upcoming 69th Miss Universe. I feel so much pressure and pride at the same time. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na mananalo ako sa Miss Universe Philippines. I was expecting for Miss World Iloilo but wow God gave me the Universe.
"You are almost ready Rabiya, konti na lang nasa perfection ka na." Attorney JV said and grinned, he's my mentor when it comes to q and a and speeches.
"Great job baby girl! Tomorrow is our flight and please freshen up and be relaxed, wag masyadong ma-excite okay?" Mama J is here with us too, he is one of the directors in Miss Universe Philippines at sila ni Miss Shamcey ang sasama sa akin sa Florida.
Gosh!! Ramdam na ramdam ko pa rin ang kilig, grabe ano kayang pakiramdam sa ibang-bansa?! Sana naman di ako mahirapan mag-adjust and also I am really excited to meet all of the delegates from different countries.
Natapos na rin ang practice and I need to rest for the flight tomorrow. I'm totally ready to fight for the crown. Handa na ako sa'yo Universe!
After the practice I went to my hotel to prepare, actually noon pa lang nakahanda na ang lahat. Sa make-ups, outfits, long gown and national costume. Maybe I need to be prepared physically and emotionally. That's fine I am really ready.
Ramdam ko ang pagod dahil sa practice kanina at naisipan ko ng humiga, haysss. Oh gosh! Grabe ang araw na ito!
I opened my Instagram account and punong-puno na naman ako ng messages and tags, mabuti na lang tinutulungan ako ni Ria my social media manager. Ngayon na nga lang niya binigay saken yung phone for tomorrow and to update my mom and brother sa Iloilo.
I browsed through my Instagram and I saw Miss Singapore photos, also Peru and Myanmar. Friends na agad kami kahit through online they are all so nice dahil sila pa ang unang nag-dm saken and they are all excited to meet me too.
Sa lahat na lang ata ng kandidata na hindi ko pa nakakausap o nakaka-interact is si Amanda Obdam from Thailand. Medyo snob siya in a way, we do follow each other on Instagram pero I messaged her and seen lang ang inabot ko. I know the rivalry of fans between Filipinos and Thais at baka ayaw niya akong kausapin because of that. Bakit naman ganon? Tinatawag na nga kaming 'The Rival Enchantresses' dahil parehas daw kaming tinitingalaan ng mga fans all over the world.
Is this a joke?! I just saw Amanda's post at papaalis na siya ngayon. Wow ang daming baggages, kayanin niya kaya yun? From what I heard nasa 100 baggages dadalhin niya, grabe! I hope we can get along. I can see na she's really happy and she's undeniably gorgeous, ang dyosa!!

There are cameras everywhere ganon na din ang media medyo nakakasilaw siya pero mabuti na lang nasa labas na kami ng airport.
Mama J and Miss Shamcey are with me. Lahat kami ay kumakaway sa media at sa mga tao na naririto ngayon. I feel so loved dahil sa natatanggap kong messages and support, mas ginaganahan ako lumaban! Para sa'yo ito Pilipinas!
I love the design of my outfit it was made by Filipino designers, Chino and Marc. The top is made of pearls and crystal embellishments while my pants is totally detailed. Napakagaling!
"Do you have any message to your fellow Filipinos Rabiya?" Dyan asked me a reporter from ABS.
I smiled and stared at the camera as if like I am talking to a person. Not person but talking to a whole nation. I felt nervousness and excitement as well.
"Lalaban po tayo, lalaban ako para sa Pilipinas!" I hear loud noises coming from the crowd, grabe ang suporta nila sa akin. Nakakakilig!!
Dyan smiled at me and she continue to ask me some questions before I left for the flight.
Nakakakaba at sobrang saya ko na grabe ang suporta ng Pilipinas. I will be forever proud Filipino at hindi ko sila bibiguin sa laban ko. This is not only for me but for 100 million Filipinos, sandali? Ate Cat? Hahahaha but it is true hindi lang sarili ang dala ko pati ang buong bansa.
Nagpunta na kami sa plane. After 30 minutes of waiting sa lobby hay mabuti naman haha. Again! I will make the Philippines proud! I-uuwi ko ang korona and I will pray for that!
