River persons quote from UNDERTALE^^^^
After his discovery involving Chara, he has been monitoring the void figure (he still wasn't completely sure of his name). He made the discovery that anyone who interacts with the void, or had a decent amount of determination can remember resets.
"is it good that I fall into this category?" Sans said out loud. He was tired of thinking, and had a headache. He decided to close his eyes for a moment and before he knew it, he fell asleep and woke up in the morning. For once, he had a normal day. Annoy Papyrus, crack jokes, eat and sleep and BAM. You have just successfully created "a day in the life of Sans". The only exception he had was that he allowed Papyrus to stay up late because what could go wrong?
While Papyrus was watching a Mettaton show (the connection wasn't the best because Mettaton was still underground) Sans went out to check on his gooey friend.
"H3-l-l-l ooooo"
The figure made a decent attempt to communicate. Sans could understand it and responded back with a simple "hello?". This time, when he looked at the monitor, he saw another figure, which seemed to be writing in a grey notepad. Although maybe the monitor was in grayscale? Maybe I should check the labels next time? Sans thought, before re-focusing his attention onto the monitor.
"M-m-migh- m my-MY A-sssssis-tance" The figure tried again to speak. Sans wasn't sure what he was saying, but after a repeat he understood.
"your assistant?" Sans asked. The figure smiled, and Sans took that as a yes.
Without warning, the lab door opened and Papyrus and Undyne ran into the lab. Sans hurriedly turned of the monitor and looked as casual as he could manage. Surprisingly, Undyne was not here to beat Sans up, but for the machine. Actually, that still is considered Sans, because Sans definitely would try and defend that machine.
"NGAAAHHH" Undyne roared as she sped through the small area to get to the machine. Sans used blue magic to stop her from smashing directly into it. He then proceeded to stand in front if it in a protective stance. "Step aside midget!" Undyne commanded. Before Sans could respond, someone else did for him.
"Listen, IDIOT" Flowey started. "Do you have any idea what you are doing? That stupid trashbag is probably gonna throw you across the room if you dare pick at fight on him. Trust me! I've been through it!" Sans had no idea why Flowey was helping him, but he appreciated it. Once again, Sans was cut of before he could speak and tell Flowey him and Undyne alteadh fought. Mayne that was a good things as he was fine with Undyne not wanting to destroy him every second.
"FLOWEY!" Papyrus ran over to the small flower. He had liked Flowey as a friend and missed their conversations. He had finally caught up to Undyne as well he lacked behind before. Undyne, howether, took this as a chance to attack the machine while Sans was pre-occupied staring at Flowey with a confused expression.
Crash
Destroyed. A huge barrage of spears had crashed right into the machine, putting its use to an end. There was no more hope for him. No more hope for the royal scientist. No more hope for...
"dad."
Sans stared at the remains, and then Undyne.
"Dad?" Papyrus whispered. Normally, everyone would be shocked at Papyrus speaking in such a low volume, but everyone was focused on Sans.
"y-you ruined it!" Sans shouted at Undyne with rage in his eye sockets. His eyes glowed a mix of bright blue and yellow. "i could have s-saved him!" Sans continued, his rage building. "Docter GAS-" the name suddenly appeared in his mind, before disappearing again. There was still one way to address him left though: "I COULD HAVE SAVED MY D A D!" Sans's anger was turned into magic as he sent out un-coordinated magic attacks across the room. Flowey had a "forget-this-stupid-crap-im-outta-here!" face on as he left the lab. Papyrus was still frozen in shock and Undyne was utterly confused about the scenario, while also protecting her and Papyrus with her spear. A voice appears from no where, addressing Sans.
"Stop Sans." It repeated about 5 times. Sans obeyed and controlled his anger, stopping the magic completely. His breathing was fast and his soul still raced with magic and anger, bit he controlled it.The machine was engulfed with a black oozy liquid and a figure emerged from it. A skeleton with a cracked skull was what it resembled. "💧︎✌︎☠︎💧︎✍︎ ⚐︎☟︎ 🕈︎✌︎✋︎❄︎ ☠︎⚐︎📬︎📬︎📬︎" The figure talked complete gibberish.
"Sans? Yes, that sounds about right..." The figure said, trying again. It dripped void substance from its body as it floated around with no legs. On closer inspection, its bottom part of its body was a couple centimeters raised from the ground.
"dad?" Sans replied, more asking than confirming.
"I-I kinda?" The void figure replied. "I am a fraction of W.D Gaster. A mere fraction of a soul. If you want your full dad back, you need to help him. H e l p m e." Sans listened to "Gasters" words closely.
"You are his best creations. His sons. Listen as well Papyrus. Gaster needs you too. Not just Sans... Gasters soul is located in a mysterious void monsters vessel. They took it to use its magic as a fuel. It devoured him and his soul. You need to kill this thing." Gasters soul fraction counterpart looked uncomfortable talking about it. It remained still, staring af everyone in the room.
"Although I'm confused, I can tell you have valuable information and something important is going on. You better tell me and my friend here what you know!" Undyne finally said something after looking at everyone in confusion for so long. Sans took note that Undyne no longer considered him a friend. He couldn't care less. Papyrus was listening, but to nervous to talk.
Gasters fraction hesitated further before spitting out.
"Kill it. Kill VOID."
Done! I'm sorry if things are getting confusing. I also almost forgot about Undyne tbh so yeah. For the confused people here is a summary:
Sans is working at his lab. Undyne busted into the lab and breaks the machine. Sans has a panicked attack and throws out uncontrollable attacks. He calms down when Gaster talks to him. Gasters comes and reveals he is only a fraction of Gasters soul. He is now referred to as a Gaster Fraction. He says how the real Gaster was devoured by Void and now Sans must kill void.
Anyway fact time!: Sans DOES die in genocide. Some people believe he survives when he walks off-screen but not only do you hear the "kill sfx" but your LOVE increases. Anyway comment etc BYE.
