The sounds of a shattering soul echoed through the Throne Room. As soon as the sound stopped, VOID finally turned to dust.

It's over. For real.

Frisk was still in shock due to the random boost of health, seeing their enemy basically commit suicide didn't really help.

Wait. Did I feel something in my SOUL? I have a soul again?

At that very moment, Frisk felt something form in their hand. A fresh new soul. It was a dark red soul, very similar to their original one. Frisk held it tightly and absorbed it.

They felt their body again, they felt everything. They were alive again!

"what." Sans said, being the first to comment on the situation, "just happened?"
Chara looked at him blankly.
"Was that rhetorical or-"
"It was rhetorical" Sans confirmed.

Everyone stared at the pile of dust in front of them. On closer inspection, it was darker than expected. Darker than normal monster dust.

"Interesting..." Gaster Fraction examined. There was a lack of enthusiasm in his voice, however, it was bland and had zero energy put into it. He was 'void' of emotions.

You would be too if you watched your soul get shattered into pieces. And you knew you would forever live being only a fraction of yourself, never being able to gain access to all your memories and wisdom. Never gain access to true feelings.

"Ya know, the doc I knew would be jumping with joy at a chance to study something new," Sans said, in an attempt to console Gaster Fraction.
"Am I the doctor you once knew? With only a fraction of a soul?" Gaster Fraction asked back.

Sans, having no answer to that, left the conversation there.

With a sigh, Chara asked Sans the important question.
"Should I open the barrier?"
Sans also sighed. He was frustrated and tired, ready to have a nice long nap to end the day.

"YOU WERE NAPPING ALL NIGHT!"
"I think that's called...sleeping?"

The good old days, am I right?

"Yeah sure, go ahead," Sans replied calmly.

And this is how the barrier was destroyed in this new, VOID free timeline.

What do we call it? The definitive timeline. The true ending?

"That's already taken, trashbag," Flowey stated with a smug face.
"Huh?" Sans asked, confused.
"The True ending, that name is already taken," Flowey stated again.
"No, like, where the fuck were you?" Sans asked, considering he was nowhere to be seen when VOID died.
"Hiding." He said with no emotion.
"Hiding?" Sans asked, still in confusion.
"What? I know you have no ears and all but you can hear, right?" Flowey snapped in anger.

Sans left right then.

Well, he stepped like a meter away.

He observed the wonderful sunrise. It seemed like every timeline when the barrier opened, it was always sunrise. Not that he complained though. It was a beautiful sight, with nature all around it.

"Do it," Sans commanded Chara, who had cone to join Sans in seeing the sunrise.
"Where is everyone else? Gaster and Frisk, I mean." Chara asked, ignoring Sans's command.
"Dunno." He responded plainly.

Chara, like everyone else, was exhausted from the constant battling and effort put into defeating VOID. Knowing that it felt to be under VOIDS control was a perfect motivator to continue and make sure justice was served.

Chara put their hand out and watched as the soul formed in front of them. They felt magic at their fingertips, ready to be used at any time. They released the raw magic out and allowed all the magic to form into the monster souls of all their friends and family. They all surrounded the pair (and Flowey).
