Speechless (Karlnap)

~Chapter 2~

"What I mean to say is: karl is mute, and does not talk"

Karl looked slightly down, and quietly made his way to an open seat in the back as everybody started to move around and sit with their friends to start working on the classwork. Dream moved his desk so it was facing sapnaps and started going on about the project, but sapnap could not take his eyes off of Karl, who was sat alone in the back corner of the classroom working on the classwork.

"Sapnap? Earth to sapnap?....hellLLOOOOO" dream tried to get his friends attention

"Huh? sorry what were you saying?" sapnap snapped out of his daze and looked at dream

"geez you are zoney today. So much for getting to know the new kid. Oh well. So do you know what your song is gonna be about?"

"Oh my gosh I have NO idea what to do, but I still have 2 weeks to figure it out. What about you?"

"Eh, I have an idea, but its still in progress: I'm thinking a song about road trips"

"Bruh what?...well good luck with THAT" sapnap laughed, and slowly returned his attention to the boy in the corner. He was curious: where did he come from, why did he transfer in the middle of the year......what does his voice sound like? Sapnap let his thoughts run on and on as he worked on the class work. 

(Time skip to after school has ended and sapnap was walking home)

Sapnap walked up to his house, getting out his keys in the process to unlock the door. After he was inside, he quickly kicked off his shoes, threw down his backpack, and walked to the kitchen to get a snack. Picking up a bag of hot Cheetos and a monster, sapnap went and got his backpack and proceeded upstairs to his room, closing the door behind him. After setting his things down, he flopped on his bed and went on his phone. He started looking up song ides to write about for his project for music class, but was quickly distracted by the thought of Karl.  There was just...something about him. He wanted to get to know him, but how are you supposed to talk to someone who won't talk back? "I guess he could write on a pad of paper?" sapnap thought. Yeah, that could work. He decided that tomorrow during class time, he would sit next to karl and get to know him by having him write out his responces. 

Sapnap then sat up and walked over to the desk in his room to start his homework, snacking as he did so.

Sapnap woke up a bit more chipper than the previous morning. He hopped out of bed and got dressed, grabbing his backpack and phone. After locking the door to his house, he proceeded to walk to the bus stop. As the bus rolled up, sapnap flashed the driver his pass and walked on the bus. Karl was seated in the same seat as before, looking out the window. Sapnap stopped for a second to admire him, his amber eyes seemed to glisten in the morning light coming through the clouds and pouring in the window. He was so....mesmerizing. 

"AYE, SIT DOWN" yelled the bus driver

Everyone, including Karl looked at sapnap as he stood looking right at karl. Sapnap made direct eye contact with him and got goosebumps. He quickly at the floor to hide the red coming over his face and quickly made his way to the back of the bus and sat next to dream who saw the whole thing as the bus started to move.

"So, care to explain what the fuck just happened?" dream asked on a half joking, half serious tone.

Sapnap just looked at his friend, red in the face and silent.

"Awwwwww were you daydreaming about karl?" dream asked in a teasing voice

"u--NOO, I just...zoned out, that's all" sapnap responded flustered

"Really, you zoned out and just so happened to be looking right at karl, sure...sure dude" Dream wheezed hard and started to laugh, leaning back on the seat and holding his stomach while sapnap shoved him to the side. He didn't like Karl, no..no that could not be, he just barely met him. They were soon interrupted by a loud voice speaking.

"Hey look, its the new bimbo." said the voice

Sapnap looked up and recognized who it was in an instant: John, but everyone refereed to him as Jschlatt. He was standing over Karl with his friends Ponk and Punz.

"Guys check this out. Hey, hey you, if you are a jackass, don't say anything" Jshlatt taunted Karl.

Karl sat in silence looking down at his hands, which were in his lap. Jshaltt turned to his friends burst out laughing.

Dream and sapnap watched as this happened, everyone else was silent besides Jshlatt and his friends. Sapnap started to get angry. Jshaltt was mean to everyone, and he had learned to ignore him, but he just couldn't stand by and let them pick on someone who literally couldn't speak up for themselves. 

"Hey jack-off, leave him alone" Sapnap suddenly sprung up from his seat. Dream looked up sapnap, suprised that he would go against jschaltt.

Jshaltt and his friends stopped laughing. All eyes were looking at sapnap, even Karl turned around slightly to look.

"Excuse me?" Jshlatt retorted, glaring at sapnap

"I said leave him alone" sapnap restated firmly

Jshlatt scoffed, and started to walk slowly toward the back of the bus

"And what if I don't, what are you gonna do about it? huh? You gonna fight me? Tough guy?"

Jshlatt stopped walking, now standing only a foot away from sapnap.

"Please, I could kick your ass any day of the week" sapnap said nonchalantly

"Oh yeah?" Jshlatt walked closer, getting right in front of sapnap's face "wanna test that theory Einstein?"

Sapnap and Jshlatt stood staring eachother down. Jschaltt was almost 6 foot, and somewhat towered over sapnap, but this did not phase sapnap one bit.

"hey, we don't want any trouble man" dream finally spoke, standing up. Jshlatt looked at him, then back at sapnap. 

"You better watch your step, bukko" Jshlatt said coldly, then turned and walked back to his friends and sat down near the front of the bus. 

Sapnap watched as he walked off, and then his eyes wandered to Karl, who was still looking back slightly at him. Karl quickly turned around, leaving no eyes left on sapnap.

Dream and sapnap both sat down again and began to process what just happened

"Dude, are you thick in the head? Do you have a death wish of some kind?.....sapnap" dream spoke seriously

Sapnap just sat facing forward

"He is such as ass"

Dream scoffed "tch, uh yeah. That's Jshaltt in a nutshell for ya"

(Timeskip to when they are at school)

As sapnap and dream walked into class, sapnap noticed that karl was already in his seat in the back corner, looking down at his desk. Sapnap made his way over to desk next to dream as the bell rang and class started.

As everyone started to move to sit next to their friends, sapnap looked over at the corner of the class and noticed there was one more empty desk, one the was right next to karl. Sapnap sat at his desk looking over at the desk, pondering if he should even try to talk to karl after what happened on the bus. He looked over at dream, who was absorbed in his song writing, then back at the desk "I could just slip away for a little bit, dream wont care" sapnap said to himself. After working up the courage, he slowly slid out of his desk, grabbing his things and proceeded to walk toward the back of the class room.

What years of school were your best years? I loved highschool the best I think; middle school was okay, but omg I'd rather die than go back to elementary school lol.
