Shifting

Love,  I've  often  heard, can change  like  the  seasons.

Many  times  people can't find  solid  reasons.

But  my  heart  does  not  ache at  a  change  in  someone's  affections.

All  energy  goes  toward making textual  corrections.

My  love,  I've  often  heard, referring  to  a  lady  in  song.

Could  my  first  interpretation of  that  one  word  be  so  wrong?

I pull  my  headphones  down and  stare  at  my  phone  screen.

Could  I  solve  the  mystery if  I  were  more  keen?

"How I love this  love" sits  pretty  on  the  lyric  display.

Sometimes, I dream  about never  flipping  words  in  this  way.

What do you associate with each word  that you  speak?

With  effort, you  can  make  a  psychological  tweak.

If  you  choose to  hear  words  in  a  different  way,

You  may  eventually have  a  strange  Wednesday,

Where  words  turn  sentences' complex meanings  around.

And  nothing's  the  same in  comprehensive  breakdown.

It  can  change  your thought-process to a  degree,

And  for  the  stress, I am in need  of  green  tea.
