Summer's Breeze

You  were  a  cool  breeze  on  a  summer’s  day.

When I was down, you would blow me away.

When things  got  stuffy,  you'd  open  a  door.

What  laid  before  us  was  never  a  bore.

You  cooled  me  once  conditions  got  hot.

After  some  time  I  gave  everything  thought.

Those  reflections have  made  me  calm  today.

I know I will  have peace of mind  someday.

Though,  I  now  want  for  something  so  much  more.

At  least  there  are  those  I  write  poems  for.

I've lots of chances to use my  teapot.

My friends  like  to  talk  over  drinks  a  lot.

Thank  you  for  always  saying  the  word,  "hey!”

That gave  me  a  delightful  yesterday.
