"I don't deserve you Jaemin..."
"What makes you say that?"
"You're a kind, considerate, intelligent and humble person. The most of them I've ever met."
"Then you deserve me, Park Hyejin."

The little girl opens the front door in excitement to see her baby brother that was finally born. The baby boy sleeps steadily in her mother's arms and she tiptoes to get a closer look only to be pushed to the ground.
"Don't look at him. You'll taint him." her mother venomously glares at her.
The little girl was taken aback by her mother's actions. She froze as she thought if she did something wrong to upset her mother but nothing came up in her head.
After putting the baby on the crib and closing the door shut in their rooms upstairs, the two parents come down to have a 'talk' to the frightened girl. Hyejin sits up with her back straight after the occurrence. Prior to this, her mother had never raised her voice at her before.
"Listen Hyejin." her father starts, "We adopted you because our numerous tries to have our own birth child failed. No matter what Sunhee just didn't get pregnant but as you can see, your baby brother is now born and so..."
Daehyun puts an arm around his wife's shoulder, gesturing to her to continue his words, "Honestly we just adopted you because we thought we wouldn't be able to bear a child. Now that we have Hajoon, we don't have a use for you anymore." Sunhee nonchalantly shrugs, "But we'll keep you here just cause, why not? From now on, don't expect us to dote on you. You were never our real child anyways."
Never in her life did Hyejin think that those words would come out of people that have been taking care of her with care and adoration. She never thought that was how they thought of her. Until now, she thought they adopted her due to her love for children as they have mentioned several times before. Whenever she asked why they adopted her, they would always respond back with compliments. Now, she felt betrayed, ashamed and crushed. She shakes in the sudden change of attitude of her so called parents and begs to be treated the same way as before.
But both Sunhee and Daehyun wouldn't even spare a glance at the ten year old girl. It was as if they left her there to rot. From then on, Hyejin worked around the house from cooking three meals a day, cleaning the toilet and taking care of her baby brother. At first, she hated the small human who could do nothing but cry and wail all night long.
She wished that Hajoon was never born.
But as time went on, she felt guilty. Hajoon did nothing wrong but be born. He did nothing wrong but exist. He could do nothing but cry and wail all night long because he's a baby. Hyejin apologies to the small baby that was peacefully playing with his toys, kneeling down in disgust at her own thoughts to harm an innocent baby. She covers her mouth as weeping sounds and grips on the metal crip to support herself from fully breaking down. This diverted baby Hajoon from his toys to his crying sister. Hajoon crawls across the bed and puts his two hands beside his sister's head and gives a quick kiss on the forehead. He giggles and claps in joyfulness at the successful action.
"I love you, Hajoon-ie. I'll take care of you. I promise."
