Love is friendship set in fire- Jeremy Taylor

Roman.

Straightening the edge of my collar, with my eyes still fixed to my figure reflecting from the mirror. After a quick check, I was nearly satisfied with my presentable appearance and spun towards Royalty's direction.

"Do I look okay?" I ask, rather uncertain.

She abandons the book she was reading on my nightstand, focusing her attention on me.

With a smile on, she replied, "Okay? Daddy you do not look okay, you look beautiful and handsome."

She compliments me. She never fail to make me smile and worry less and also amuse me.

"Oh and... " She got off my bed and strode to me. She balanced herself on the stool in my front, dusting something off my grey shirt and smiled at me giving me a thumbs up, "You're ready now."

I took a glance at my built body through the mirror and nod at myself, my daughter is right; I'm ready to go.

"Elias." I call out while he threw my car keys at me, wasting no time. I curve at Royalty who is now sulking, few minutes ago, she was the one complimenting me and was cheerful and now she's being the opposite.

I pull her into my embrace, rubbing her arm, soothingly, "Okay sweetheart?"

It was when she pouted that I get what was going on, I let out a heavy sigh, stroking her cheeks lightly.

"It's okay, I'll be back before you know it, remember our plans for the evening." I put a convincing smile on but no emotion appear in her eyes except those sad ones. "And you can play with Eli."

"But Eli's friends are here, they won't let me play."

I look over at Elias signalling to help, he got the code and assured Royalty, "It's no biggie, I'll keep you company, you said you want a-"

"No I don't want it anymore..." She whine stubbornly, causing me to shake my head.

She has started again.

I gave her a stern look that made her go quiet and soon, her lips had curved downwards.
Oh this is going to be a long day. I just sympathize with Elias, he's going to deal with her when I'm away.

Elias took her in his arms sending me that 'look'

It's hard controlling the rapid beating of my heart as I step out of my Porsche 911 Carrera, scanning the bungalow before me. My heart has never beaten this fast for anyone only if you count Eve out. And it is so awkward.

I slowly lift my hand to the wooden door and gently punched my fist on it and paused, saying motivational quotes to myself to calm myself down.

The door flutter open, revealing a lady about 5'5 high. She examines me through her thick long lashes and it's taking too long, she isn't even appearing to move either. She just stood, fixed, like a statue while she continue checking me out.

I clear my throat, trying hard to hide the smirk forming on my lips. She finally regained her composure, also clearing her throat. Her cheeks was red as fire.

"Hi, um... You must be Romeo."

Only Eve calls me Romeo. I thought but nodded anyways. She told me to feel at home and sit on the couch while she went to call Eve.

Oh God I cannot wait to see those electric deep blue eyes that shines brightly at me, hear that voice that makes my heart flutter and do some flips. The more anxious I get as the second ticks. I'm getting restless in seeing her beautiful face, hear her soft voice, inhale her-

"Romeo, hey."

I snap my head up from my palm, recognizing that voice, the one I've longed for. My eyes met a pair of mesmerizing blue eyes staring right back at me. I stood up from the couch, walking to her, secretly imagining how awesome it will be if I have the chance to run my hand over her hair, how those lips will feel on mine...

"Hey sorry, I um... Spaced out." I scratch the nape of my neck, shooting her an apologetic look.

This is what I'm talking about, I act like I'm not the real, arrogant Roman people knows me as in front her. I know the reason behind it is because I'm crazy for her and I hope she's also crazy for me. I hope.

"Bye the way, you look beautiful just like usual." I wink at her and made a move of placing my arm around her lower back, I heard her gasp when I touched her- like she did not expect it. I took her to my car and drove off to Carly's almost thirty minutes far. It is not really that fancy restaurant but it isn't low-key, neutral. Just neutral.

"Thanks." She mutters when I open the door for her, again I took her palm in mine, feeling her shiver against my touch, I internally smirk.

When we got to the restaurant, we went to a booth just beside the window, if you'd noticed it has always been my favorite spot to stay beside the window. With my date.

This is my third time taking Eve out on a date. But that isn't helping to lower my nervous state.

"Hello, welcome to Carly's. I'll be your waiter for today, what's your order?"

After few chit chat with Eve, I felt more drawn to her than usual, I can't even count how many times she'd caught me staring at her and I had to quickly look away at the window. You see why I like staying beside the window even though I almost broke my neck at the process.

I look like an idiot when she caught me and she ended up laughing at me while I just drown in embarrassment but luckily for me, she can't see me blush due to my complexion.

"Thanks a million time. I had lots of fun."

I can't help the stupid grin that broke into my face when she pulled me into a big, a tight one, I was enjoying it and wished she never let go.

"It's my pleasure."

I drop my gaze to her pink attractive, kissable lips, I roll my tongue over my lips as I felt her gaze on me. I could not think of anything else except the beautiful, mind blowing view in front of me.
In a matter of seconds, my lips came across her cheeks. And I can't describe my feelings, I was aiming at her lips not her cheeks.

Deep down, I was really disappointed and affected by it but I try not to show any emotions.

What was I even thinking?

Now we're in this staring contest again, no one was saying a word, though I'm enjoying this. Damn, she must think I'm a very creepy human.

"Thanks again, Romeo." She smiled at me finally breaking the silence before leaving me in my car and thinking-

What the hell just happened.
