Chapter 9 - Sa Isang Sulyap Mo

Hindi ako mapakali.

Anton wants me to go with him sa birthday party ni Governor Escudero. Kapwa niya ito gobernador so naturally he was invited and I am expected as well to attend. Ang problema, hindi nga ako mahilig sa mga party party na yan. Lalo na kung sa kapwa niya politicians.

I had enough of mingling with these plastic people. Honestly, they are the most insincere people in the universe. Their fakeness borders to being arrogant too, as they believes that they are better than the rest of the population.

Hindi ko naman ito nilalahat. May mga matitinong politicians pa naman pero bihira na.

Bukas ng gabi na ito pero wala pa akong isusuot. Huwag na lang kaya ako sumama pero ano naman ang idadahilan ko? Kailangan makapagisip ako ng magandang alibi.

I called Jia for some advice. Sinabi ko ang aking dilemma, haha. I might have some alternatives.

"Ayan ka na naman Jema. You know that you have to go irregardless of what you feel. Sa tingin mo papayag si Anton na mag isa pumunta doon?" she said.

"You know me, I hate parties lalo kung hindi ko naman kilala ang mga tao. You have to save me, my friend." I said.

"Jema, hindi ka na nasanay sa mundong ginagalawan mo ngayon. You are the wife of one of the most handsome and one of the hottest governor in the country. Hahanapin ka sigurado doon. If they see him alone, lalapitan siya ng mga babae. Naku, baka may makilala si Anton sa party na magagandang chicks, yari ka." sabi niya.

Oo nga. Napaisip tuloy ako ng bongga. Hmmp.

I can hear Jia laughing. Potek pinagtawanan lang ako.

"Thank you sa support ha, friend nga kita." inis na sabi ko.

"I'm just telling you the truth. Bakit ba ganyan ang inaarte mo? Minsan napapaisip na lang ako talaga kung bakit mo pinakasalan si Anton." she said.

"Hoy, issue ka. I love him di ba?" I replied.

Labas sa ilong ata Madam Gob.

"Oh kaya nga. You married a politician so dapat you support him all the time. Matatapos na ang term ni Anton kaya dapat magpakita kayong dalawa sa madla na solid pa rin para sure win na ang pagkapanalo niya." she further explained what I already knew.

Politics.

Minsan iniisip ko na talagang ito ang sumira sa buhay ko. Naisip ko bigla sila Papa at si mama.

I miss them.

If Papa wasn't in the politics, siguro buhay pa sila ngayon ni Mama. Hindi kasi siya pupunta ng Cebu kung hindi siya gobernador. Masaya sana kaming tatlo. Natupad sana yung pangarap nila na makita akong isang mahusay na nurse, nagsisilbi sa mga taong may sakit.

But fate has other plans for us.

Minsan ang unfair talaga ng buhay.

Eto ako ngayon, may asawa na politiko din. Parang ito na talaga ang naka tadhana sa akin.

Happily married to a handsome, respectable and loving husband.

Financially stable.

I am still young and healthy.

Of course. I'm more than happy.

I always believe that I have a great whole life ahead of me. I just hope that I have the courage to turn my life in a complete different direction and sail to bliss.
