I looked around the massive room, everything is in order. Flower arrangements were placed in every corner that matches the hand picked decorations for the occasion. Aside from the long table at the front, there are several scattered tables and chairs that can readily accommodate hundreds of people. The area for food and drinks is located not far away.
This is marvelous. The people in charge did a great job. I really like it. Taking a deep breath, I satisfactorily walked back to the room where I came from to get ready.
"Hi best friend!" bati ni Jia sa akın na bigla na lang sumulpot sa harapan ko.
I was totally surprised to see her. Akala ko hindi siya makakarating. Ngumiti ako sa kanya bago lumapit at bumeso. Niyakap niya ako ng mahigpit in which I eagerly reciprocated. Matagal din kasi kaming hindi nagkita kaya naman ganito ang reaction namin.
"Hiiiii. I miss you best friend! How are you? I'm glad you can make it. Magtatampo na sana ako sayo." sabi ko.
"I know. I miss you too and I'm fine, thank you." sagot niya.
Niyakap ko uli siya bago niyaya na umupo muna as I'm wearing heels.
"Where's your other half?" I asked while looking around.
"Miguel was kind enough to fix my schedule para makapunta ako ngayon. Unfortunately nga lang at naiwan siya. You know that he'll be here if he's not busy nonetheless, he gave his warmest regards and congratulations to you." she replied.
Naalala ko na natapos na ang kasal nila pero hindi ako nakapag attend. Feeling ko gumaganti sila pero nandito na si Jia.
"I'm so sorry to have missed your big day Jia." sabi ko.
"Ay sus ayan ka na naman Jessica. Ilang ulit ko bang sasabihin sayo na okay lang ito dahil sa mga pinagdaanan mo. Me and Miguel both understand kaya forget it na ha. Bawi ka na lang sa anniversary namin." biro nito.
"I will, don't worry." sagot ko.
"By the way, you look gorgeous! White do look good on you. And your hair, sooo bagay." she said while eyeing me from head to toe.
Napatingin ako sa suot ko. I'm wearing a high end white suit. Tapos nakapusod naman ang buhok ko. I wore a pair of white dangling earrings.
"Thank you, ikaw din ah." sabi ko.
"Of course, we're both pretty hehe. How do you feel pala? Are you nervous?" she asked.
"A bit but I hope it will go away later." I replied.
I checked the watch, we still have an hour before the program starts. So nag kwentuhan muna kami ni Jia bago siya nagpaalam dahil magre-retouch pa daw siya ng make up.
Nagpalakad lakad lang ako sa room while killing the time. Nung mapagod, I looked out of the window at malungkot na nag muni-muni. Ang bilis ng panahon since that fateful night.
Nadatnan ako ni Ponggay sa ganitong sitwasyon.
"How are you? Are you okay Madam Gob?" she worryingly asked.
Umupo muna ako bago sumagot.
"Not so bad given the situation I am in right now." I replied.
"Your situation is perfect Madam Gob. No need to worry na po. You are safe and you have the people you love, around you." masiglang sabi nito.
Ponggay being Ponggay as usual.
"Alam mo, sa lahat ng taong nakilala ko, ikaw talaga itong napaka positibo mag isip. Kahit minsan hindi ka nawawalan ng pag asa. In every bad situation, you always work with a positive mind." puri ko sa kanya.
