the girl's scrolling fingers froze as the tweet appeared on her screen, it having been placed on her timeline by her mutuals fighting with Jen.

her breathing stopped, eyes immediately watering and letting the tears go with no warning.

fuck.

everyone, since I-LAND, after finding out she was Samuel's sister, had been cautious of never mentioning her father. no one knew how she felt about the entire situation, considering she'd never addressed it.

no one ever expected her to, either. she was a 14-year-old girl — sure, she was experienced in the 'real world' since she'd been out of her parents' hold for five years, but she hadn't ever gone through something as traumatizing as his demise was.

the girl was distracted for the rest of the day, shutting herself in the room any time the group wasn't forced to be all together.

good thing we barely have schedules this week.

"she's been doing so well recently, what the hell is up with her?"

the boys were normally incredibly understanding of NaRi's occasional mood swings — though today the air'd, for some reason, shifted.

"yo, we don't know-"
"no, we never know with her anymore."
"HeeSeung- dude."
"did you just-"
"yes i said 'HeeSeung'. i'm not calling you hyung until you start fucking acting like one." the youngest spat out, the others staring in awe.

the eldest looked shocked at Ni-Ki's particular choice of words, "what's up with you, too?"
"even if NaRi is acting a bit strange right now, what gives you, or any of us, the right to talk shit about her?"
HeeSeung sighed, realizing the Japanese boy was right. he refused to show his acceptance, though. he simply rolled his eyes, walking to another room of the house.

the members watched as he walked out, Ni-Ki sat on the couch in deep thought.

NaRi layed in Ni-Ki's bed, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. she'd heard the boys' conversation, considering their voices were booming through the entire house.

does he not care about me?

she was quick to realize how stupid she sounded, silently laughing at her inner voice. of course he cares about you, dumbass, you're just being a whiny little bitch right now.

she resented herself for always having these moments — times where she was unable to control her emotions, times where she knew the boys wished they'd debuted as a full 8-male membered group. she felt bad for making the boys deal with her uncontrollable, girly emotions when they'd much rather be dealing with their own.
