"You didn't have to do that, you know?" You turn and say to Bucky who was on the other side of your bed.
"Yes I did, you didn't deserve any of it."
"But did you have to nearly kill him?"
"To somewhat be at peace with myself, yes."
"Bucky, what do you mean be at peace with yourself?" You look at him with concern and curiosity.
"The only reason you met Blake was because of me. If I wouldn't of suggested that break you would of never left. Every hit you took from him was my fault. He deserved a taste of his own medicine." You start balling uncontrollably.
"Bucky none of it was your fault. I shouldn't have let him buy me a drink because he took advantage of me."
"Just admit it! If we never broke up you wouldn't of left!" Bucky was basically screaming at this point. You flinch when he stood up and turned towards you. "You can't even trust me." You watch as Bucky walks out of the room. Tears falling down your face like a waterfall. The rest of the night was spent crying in your room. You did trust Bucky. With all of your heart, you were just so used to being hit that it was out of habit when someone approached you.
"Hey sweetie," Tony says walking into your room with a small box.
"Hey Tony, what's up?"
"Just bringing you something small." He hands you the box and you open it. Inside is a small bracelet.
"Thank you," you say giving him a smile.
"And if you double tap it the bracelet sends me a signal saying you're in trouble and will send me your location. I just thought it would be a little useful with everything that has been happening."
"Thank you," Tony jumps towards you with excitement, his arms extended. Out of habit you flinch once he's close to you. "Bri, you know I wouldn't hurt you right?"
"I'm sorry, I try not to flinch or jump or react. But I'm so used to being hit when approached. I try not to, Bucky walked out earlier because he thought I couldn't trust him." You start sobbing thinking about Blake and then Bucky.
"Bri, Bucky would never harm you in anyway possible."
"I know none of you guys would. But I have ptsd from Blake and you need to know it takes time to heal." Tony slowly approaches you and puts an arm around your shoulders.
"I understand Bri. I just want you to feel safe and comfortable." You slide the bracelet on and hold your arm up.
"Well this will definitely help." Tony smiles but it quickly fades once he sees the cuts and bruises all over your wrist. Since Blake came into your life you started cutting more. And the bruises were from him grabbing your wrist. Tony slowly and gently grabs your wrist and examines it.
"This needs to stop," he points to the cuts as his eyes fill with tears.
"Tony I'm sorry, I just thought things would be getting better but instead they got worse and I met Blake."
"Hey look at me. None of this is your fault." Tony slowly cups the side of your face and wipes your tears. "I'll talk to Bucky." He kisses your forehead and walks out.You sit in your bed, staring at the wall.
"I need some air," you walk to you closet and change into leggings and one of Bucky's sweatshirts. You throw on a pair of sneakers and head out of the facility. You walk around downtown New York for what felt like hours. You check the time and see it's only 7p.m. and head to a diner. You sit at a table near the back trying to not draw attention and order some fries. After about 45 minutes of reading on your phone you hear a familiar voice.
"I know she's here, over there."
Blake. You slowly look up and see him with a group of friends. You go up to the counter and pay for your food and slowly try to leave. Before leaving the facility you had told Tony where you were going. He felt okay with it and agreed that you just needed to be careful. You start walking back towards the facility when you get a text from an unknown number."Turn around and into the alley or we will kill everyone you love." Nothing used to ever scare you but Blake was different. You knew he had sent the text but you were so scared of him. Knowing what he was capable of. You slowly tap your bracelet before heading into the alley.
"I missed you," you see Blake standing against a wall. "Those Avengers made a huge mistake. And now they're paying the price for it." You started rapidly tapping the bracelet hoping for Tony to show up any second. "Come on," Blake grabs your wrist and when you turn around you see 6 other men. All of them are at least 2x bigger than you. They put you in a car and start driving. You keep hitting the bracelet.
Where are you Tony?
Your eyes start filling with tears and you keep hitting the bracelet.
"What are you tapping?" Blake says grabbing your wrist and observing the bracelet. Is this some kind of tracking device.?"Shit
"No," you say pulling your wrist away.
"Then you wouldn't mind if I did this." He yanks the bracelet off your wrist and throws it out of the window.
"No!" You yell trying to stop him.
"Well it obviously was some sort of tracking device." He smacks you across the face and starts lecturing you about something. You can't focus on what he says though. The stinging from his slap distracting you from everything. So much for Tony's bracelet. At least he knows I need help now.
