Jax's POV

After Rylee pulls out of the driveway I feel Poppy's hands pulling me back into the house. I didn't expect to open my door and see her, much less she her in the scrubs that hug her ass in all the right places and her tight little shirt that encases her perky boobs. I don't even know what just kind of happened, but I know she doesn't want shit to do with me and the fact that she came to apologize means she really does have a heart.

And maybe even has developed a soft spot for me.

"Come on let's go to a late lunch since we haven't ate yet, there's this place near my apartment I want to try, it's a taco place but it has good reviews and I've never been." Poppy tells me rubbing my chest as she looks up at me smiling.

"Umm yeah. Give me a few minutes to make some work calls." I tell her as she nods. "I'll go finish my hair and makeup." She tells me as I nod and she's off towards the master.

I immediately go to my office and sit down before calling Carter. He's married and he'll know how to handle this shit. "Carter I need your help." I tell him immediately looking at the time. I've got to be in the gym in two hours anyway.

"What's wrong now?" He asks as I tell him everything that happened these past two days with her, Poppy and everything. But I don't tell him that we kissed because I told her it'd never get out and it won't. I wouldn't do that to her, I respect her too much to do that.

"Fuck man." He tells me as I sigh. "How did you know to marry Maggie?" I ask him referring to his wife.

"Jax if you want me to be honest it's a little bit of what you're going through right now." He tells me as I palm my damn forehead. What in the actual hell is wrong with me? I'm twenty seven years old and I know how to take care of myself.

"Fuck me." I tell him as he laughs. "I don't want to be out of her life but I know she wants me out." I tell him looking out the window and sitting back in my desk chair.

"Send her flowers. Just wish her the best in life and I promise you that shit will work. Maggie wouldn't even go on a date with me for a year because I had a reputation but I sent her flowers and she finally caved after some convincing. I know Rylee's with someone right now but, maybe she'll realize she likes you too." He tells me as I sigh and open my laptop.

The first thing that pops up is a flower box with same day delivery and I order her a huge box with a pink color scheme. It even has reviews that show ladies loving it so I place the order and look through apartments in Atlanta before finding hers and sending them there. I put her name on the label and scan in a handwritten note to go with it. I don't say much, taking Carter's advice as I slowly make my way into her heart, I know I'm going too.

"Don't call or text, it makes you seem desperate. Plant the seed and don't do shit." He tells me as I smile.

"I'm taking your advice don't mess me up on this one." I tell him as he laughs. "No it'll work. I've got to go, I'll see you in a few hours." He tells me hanging up as I close my laptop and open my office doors. I don't know why I have a office, I don't use it for much at all.

I walk through the house before going into my master and seeing Poppy in the bathroom curling her hair. She's changed into a sundress with small white sneakers on her feet and she looks sexy with the deep cut of the neckline.

"You look good." I tell her waiting in the bathroom door frame as she smiles at me. "Thanks. Now go put on something besides dark wash jeans and a hoodie." She tells me as I smile and walk past her to my closet. I pinch her hip as she laughs and I go get clothes changing for her.

We're out the door in twenty minutes and lunch is good, I just can't quit thinking about what Rylee thinks of my gift once I know it's been delivered.
