Ch. 2: Wherefore Art Thou, Trollhunter? ^He has a Partner?

"This is unbelievable!" I hollered, my voice bouncing off the crystal walls.

Blinky looked rather proud while Arggghhh just nodded with a silent smile. Jim looked around with a wonder-struck face, Toby having almost the same reaction as he started listing different rocks and minerals he saw (Making one or two trolls upset...scratch that. They all seemed upset).

We all took in more of the beautiful sight, me admiring all of the beautiful bright colors.



Suddenly tiny creatures started scurrying around our feet, them having the cutest faces. Along with the sweetest red hats.

"Blinky, who are they? They're adorable." I question and complimented as I bent down to greet the creatures. I held out my hand to only have sharp dagger teeth bared at me, a loud hiss coming from the small creatures. "Ah! Not so cute!" I gasped, jumping back while covering my hand surprised.

"Gnomes. Little vermins they are." Blinky then said something along the lines of grooming, but I was only half-listening as he also began to explain to Jim what Troll Market was, its sole purpose. It was quite beautiful really.

But one thing kept bothering me.

"Umm, Jim?" He seemed to be thinking what I was thinking as he turned to Blinky rather confused. "Why does everyone seem so...angry?"

But Blinky was never given the chance to answer him as a huge group of trolls surrounded us, none of them having the intention of saying a friendly 'hello.'

"Humans?! Fleshbags in our Troll Market!?" Multiple trolls yelled, their demeanor intimidating.

I gulped down a lump in my throat as I tucked my hands into my hoodie, realizing my armor had disappeared, my amulet now in my pocket.

I signaled to Jim with a muddled look and it took him a moment for him to understand me but he then made an 'o' face and leaned closer to whisper, "It's because you're at ease. At least that's what Blinky said." He finished explaining, me enjoying the dark blue of his jacket.

"I'm not exactly at east right now." I admit with a few cracks in my voice, looking at the angry crowd again.

He chuckled only to have a nervous face of his own.

"No, no, no! You must understand. This is our new Trollhunter accompanied by-"

"My Destined Partner! We are here to protect you!" Jim proclaimed. As he did this, he looked back at me with a smile which I returned one of my own in a heartbeat.

A stranger, a boy I only knew because of a few classes we had together, yet...I now FELT as if I'd known him for years...LIFETIMES! It sounded crazy, it really did. But it was like that gut feeling I had this morning. There was no explaining it, it was just there, he was just there...

"A human as a trollhunter!? He has a Partner?" A troll questioned.

"DESTINED Partner. Don't forget that part." I push, thinking the whole destined thing sounded really cool.

"What's this nonsense about a HUMAN TROLLHUNTER!?" Suddenly a much larger male troll emerged from the crowd.

He had to be at least 10-12 feet tall, with a very strong and thick build. Blue skin like Blinky, just a lighter shade. He had random (What seemed like scars) on his skin, spikes running along his back. His face square, the top of his head having two huge horns spiraling out.

In short, HE LOOKED FREAKING AWESOME! Scary, but awesome.

There was a short argument between him and Blinky, his name being Draal when something Blinky said caught my attention.
