'How could you keep this from us'
'I-I thought that you would think less of me...'
'Well you thought right'
'W-what-'
'Of course we think less of you, now that we know the monster you are'
'B-but it's still me. It's me, (Y/N). I thought we were friends'
'Who would wanna be friends with a freak like you'
'H-huh?'
'You heard us, now get outta here you monster'
'We never wanna see you again'
'NO!' I scream, jolting awake from the nightmare. I instantly cringe as I remember that I'm sleeping in the same room as Luz and Amity, luckily they seem to have slept through my small outburst. After a few seconds my breaths slow and I regain my composure. 'Relax (Y/N), no way Luz and Amity would react like that. Right?'
'React like what?' Luz mumbles, rubbing her eyes as she sits up.
'What're you two going on about?' Amity groans, waking up as well.
'Shit' I think to myself now that I have to explain, or some up with a convincing story. 'Oh nothing important, just a dumb nightmare. Night girls' I quickly say, laying back down.
'Yeah no, you're not getting away that easily' Amity says, pulling me back to a sitting position.
'Yeah (Y/N). Are you ok?' Luz asks, moving to sit next to me.
'I-um-well....' I stutter, trying to find a way to not have to tell the truth.
'How about you start with what the nightmare was about?' Amity suggests.
'Yeah that's a good idea' Luz agrees. 'What was it about (Y/N)?'
'I-well umm' I stutter trying to come up with a way to not have to tell them the truth. I let out a deep sigh and decide to just suck it up and tell them. 'In the nightmare... I told you both something, a secret of mine. But the two of you didn't have the best reaction. In the dream you said that you thought I was a freak and that you never wanted to see me again' I explain, looking down at my feet.
Silence only lasts for a second or two before Luz flings her arms around me. 'Aww (Y/N), it's ok. We love you no matter what' she cooed.
'Yeah (Y/N), nothing could make us not want to see you, that nightmare will never come true I promise' Amity confirms, hugging me as well.
Their words do ease me a little but the fear of how they would react still lingered. I want to tell them, but it's not exactly easy to tell your best friends that you turn into a terrifying beast with the full moon.
'Thanks girls, that means a lot' I say as they release me from the cuddle cage. 'I do want to tell you two my secret but the fear of how you'll react is still there' I explain, wiping away a tear that had started to fall.
'It's ok (Y/N), you don't have to tell us if you aren't ready' Amity says, wiping away a tear for me.
'Yeah! You take as long as you need (Y/N)' Luz conforms.
'We should probably head back to sleep now, shouldn't we?' I chuckle slightly.
'We probably should' Amity agrees, laying down in her sleeping bag. 'Night'
I go to lay down again but I'm cut off by another hug from Luz
'Night (N/N). If you have another nightmare you wake us up, ok?' Luz asks and I nod in return so she lays down on her bed.
'Thanks Luz. Goodnight' I thank the human girl before laying down myself.
Both of these girls are so perfect, I can't possibly see that dream coming true. I will tell them the truth eventually but tonight is not the night. I close my eyes, confident that that will be the last time I have that nightmare.
