Chapter Three - The Entrance Exams

As the deadline to sign up for the UA Entrance Exam draws nearer, Octus makes all the necessary preparations to ensure that Ilana and Lance as well as himself are prepared for it. During this time, Octus manages to buy a house in the suburbs. At the same time, Octus does extensive research on the nature of Quirks and how he could apply them to the three of them. For Octus, it was simple. Given his advanced holographic technology, Octus was able to mimic any Quirks he desired. He decides to disguise his combat capabilities with an unknown Quirk. As for Ilana and Lance, it proved to be somewhat trickier. However, he was able to modify their armors so that they be able to discreetly use it's combat capabilities while not drawing too much attention to themselves. Soon enough, the day of the Entrance Exams was upon them. As they made their way to UA, Ilana was amazed at the sight she was seeing. It reminded her of the palace back on Galaluna. 

Ilana: It's....it's just like Galauna. 

Octus: I have made all the necessary preparations. I have taken the liberty of signing us for the Entrance Exams in their computer system. 

Lance was silent as he kept his mind on the mission. All that mattered to him was his mission to protect Ilana. As far as he was concerned, nothing else mattered. Suddenly, an ashen blond haired young man shoved Lance aside. 

Lance: Hey! Watch where you're going!

???: Fuck off you extra!

Lance was outraged at the teen's words. He clenched his fists and was prepared to attack him. However, Ilana and Octus intervened. 

Ilana: S...sorry! You have our sincerest apologies! 

???: I don't have time for this shit! 

The teen stormed off for the entrance to UA. After this altercation, Ilana and Octus spoke with Lance who was still agitated by what had just happened. 

Ilana: What were you about to do? 

Lance said nothing, making it clear of what he was about to do. 

Ilana: Starting a fight like this would make a terrible first impression! Not to mention that it would draw a lot of attention on us. 

Octus: As well as jeopardize our chances at enrolling at UA, thus compromising our mission. 

As Octus said that, Lance remained silent. After that, the three entered UA and made their way to the auditorium where all the other hopefuls were waiting. Once inside,  Present Mic made an announcement on what the Entrance Exams would be. They would be entering a fake city and destroy robots worth between 1 through 3 points. They would have to get as much points as they could. After that, Ilana and Lance along with Octus were at the gate to the fake city.

Ilana: Look at all these people! It seems a lot of people really want to enroll at UA. 

Lance: It doesn't matter. All that matters is that we pass. 

Octus: The best approach is for us to stick together. Based on Present Mic's presentation, we should have no problem....

Without warning, the Entrance Exams began. Left with little time to react, Lance and Ilana along with Octus charged into the fake city. As they encountered the robots stationed in the city, Lance and Ilana used the modifications in their armors to take down the robots. For Lance, this was just like the many the many battles he fought during his time in the Galalunan army. For Ilana, the chaos of battle was foreign to her. The only chaos she experienced was during the Fall of Galauna. As for Octus, he simply took down the robots with efficiency. During the battle, Lance sees a two pointer preparing to ambush Ilana. 

Lance: ILANA!

Without hesitation, Lance lunged at the two pointer and destroys it. Ilana returns the favor by destroying a one pointer which was about to ambush Lance. Eventually, the trio spot the giant Zero Pointer coming their way. 

Ilana: This must be the Zero Pointer! 

Octus: We must pull back. 

Without hesitation, Lance and Ilana along with Octus pull back. As they retreat, they saw what looked like an applicant seemingly destroy the Zero Pointer. Lance and Ilana were caught off guard by this while Octus was curious. 

Octus: How curious. 

As they continue to retreat, Ilana sees a female applicant with purple hair whose leg was trapped under rubble. Without hesitation, Ilana rushes over to the applicant and helps her. 

Ilana: You should be safe! 

As this happened, the Entrance Exams abruptly ended. With the exams concluded, they made their way to the home Octus had bought. Days later as they ate breakfast, Octus arrived with three envelopes. 

Octus: Our results have arrived. 

When they opened their letters, a device fell from each of their envelopes and began playing a personalized live recording featuring All Might. Lance had been ranked 5th with 50 Villain Points and 15 Rescue Points. Ilana was ranked 13th with 35 Villain Points and 30 Rescue Points. Octus was ranked 4th place with 65 Villain Points and 50 Rescue Points. All were placed in Class 1-A. 

Ilana: This is wonderful news! Now we're officially students of UA.

While Ilana was thrilled about enrolling at the prestigious UA Academy, Lance's only concern was the mission. Octus was curious about UA. He was looking forward to studying UA as well as the Hero Course itself. With that, the three rested for the night, preparing for their first day at UA. Meanwhile agents from the mysterious G3 were inspecting the crashed spaceship Ilana, Lance and Octus arrived them. Leading them was the mysterious Solomon. 

G3 Agent: Sir, we've inspected the ship. It's definitely alien. 

Solomon: Any sign of it's occupants?

G3 Agent: No, sir. But based on the information we've gathered about Toxic Chainsaw, there appears to be three of them and they may be on the move. 

As the G3 agent informs Solomon of the current situation, Solomon becomes interested as he attempts to deduce where they might have gone. As it currently stands, there was no conclusive lead on where they might have gone. However, Solomon had a hunch. 

Solomon: They could not have gotten far. I want G3 agents sweeping all nearby cities. I want constant updates. Conduct your investigations discreetly. 

G3 Agent: Yes sir! 

With that, Solomon had begun his investigation. He would have G3 agents discreetly sweep all nearby cities for any possible leads on the occupants of the ship. What Solomon didn't know was that were closer than he thinks.
