Chapter Twenty Three - Xeexi

As Ilana helped Midoriya and the others capture the Hero Killer, Lance was conducting his own patrol. It had been some time since they last communicated. Lance didn't like this radio silence. He attempts to contact her, but was unable to. 

Lance: Ilana? Ilana!

When Lance got nothing, he became concerned. He looked down on his watch. At this point, Lance didn't care about his cover as a UA student. All he cared about was the mission. As he was about to use his armor, a voice calls out to him.

???: There you are!

Lance looks up to see Xeexi hanging above a streetlight. Without hesitation, Lance attempts to activate his armor. Before he could do so, Xeexi gets the drop on Lance and proceeds to knock him out. Xeexi smiles as he takes Lance away. Sometime later, Lance wakes up to find himself trapped aboard a ship. Lance struggles to free himself, but is unable to as Xeexi approaches Lance.

Xeexi: I was hoping to find the princess. Finding you was difficult at first, but once I checked the area where the Mega Beast was destroyed, all I had to do was research on this....UA. The footage from the Sports Festival helped me further. 

Lance: What do you want?! 

Xeexi: We both know what I am here for. I will ask you once. Where is the princess? 

Lance says nothing as he spits in Xeexi's face. Xeexi chuckles as he wipes the spit from his face. Xeexi restrains Lance and enters Lance's body. Once Xeexi was inside, Xeexi uses his powers to try and get Lance to reveal Ilana's location.

Xeexi: Where is the princess? 

As Xeexi exerts his power on Lance, Lance fights back. Even as his whole body convulsed in pain, Lance refuses to give in.

Xeexi: I'm impressed. Most people break by this point. But let's see your will's breaking point.

Xeexi amplifies his power over Lance. Lance screams in pain as he attempts to fight back Xeexi's influence. Despite Lance's desperate attempt to fight off Xeexi's influence, Lance was soon forced to reveal Ilana's location.

Lance: H.....Hosu....City....

Xeexi smiles at this development as he crawls out of Lance. Xeexi chuckles as the tortured Lance attempts to lash out at Xeexi, but was unable to.

Xeexi: Thank you for your cooperation, boy. You just ensured the safety of the princess. I will take it from here.

Xeexi mocks Lance as he leaves him in his ship. Lance attempts to break free, but the binds holding him back prove too strong to break free. Despite this, Lance was spurred on by thoughts of Ilana and the danger he inadvertently put her in. Lance was able to free one of his arms and activates his armor and frees himself. Once he frees himself, he promptly escapes Xeexi's ship. Meanwhile, Ilana was aiding Midoriya and the others in helping the city just as a couple of Nomu attacked the city. As they joined Endeavor, Octus approached Ilana. 

Octus: Ilana, where's Lance?

Ilana: We split up to cover more ground. Then the Nomu came in and we regrouped. Lance should've been here. 

Octus: The Rift Gate was opened. There may be a Mutraddi attack. 

As Octus says that, Xeexi attacks Ilana. Octus immediately rushes in to Ilana's aid, but Xeexi was able wrap Octus with his tentacles and throws him against a nearby building. This catches the attention of Midoriya and the others. 

Midoriya: Heads up, everyone! We got another Nomu! 

As Midoriya along with Todoroki and Iida rushed to attack Xeexi, Xeexi was able to easily best the three UA students. Ilana was left by herself to fight against Xeexi. 

Xeexi: Hello, princess. It's time to come home. 

As Ilana prepared to fight Xeexi, Lance rushes in to attack Xeexi. 

Lance: You're not taking her!

Xeexi: Now you weren't supposed to escape, boy. But I'm good at adapting!

Xeexi lunges at Lance and enters Lance's body. As soon as he does so, he takes control of Lance's body and forces him to attack Ilana. As Lance presses the attack, Ilana tries to help Lance.

Ilana: Lance! Don't do this! Fight him! I know you can do it! 

Xeexi: Don't even bother, princess! I have full control of this boy's body!

As Xeexi commands Lance to attack. But as Lance was about to attack, Lance stops as he fights Zeexi's influence. 

Lance: Get....out....of my body!

Using his willpower, Lance was able to force Xeexi out of Lance's body. At this point, Xeexi is forced to retreat. Wasting no time, Ilana and Lance along with Octus chase after him. Once they were out of everyone's view, they form the Sym Bionic Titan. As the Sym Bionic Titan forms, Xeexi reaches his ship and attempts to escape. As his ship launches, Xeexi shoots out a probe as well as the large rock that was loaded onto his ship. 

Xeexi: Incredible.....

As the Titan grips the ship, the probe records the entire scene. The probe records as the Titan destroys the ship, killing Xeexi. Inside the Titan, Octus notices the probe.

Octus: It's launched a probe of some sort and it's headed out into space.

Lance: We need to shoot that down quickly.

Before the Titan could shoot down the probe, the probe blasts out of Earth. Immediately, the ground began to shake at the rock landed outside Hosu City. The rock breaks apart as a Long Limb Mutraddi Beast takes form. In that moment, the Titan prepared to battle against the Long Limb Beast in the heart of Hosu City.
