*8 months later*

It had been months since Sam and Deena had heard a thing from one another yet Deena still had their stuff from when they were together in her room. She could still sometimes smell Sam's scent on her pillows and she longed for the scent to never go away... until it did just 4 months ago.

Yet having Sam's perfume for whenever Deena missed her played with her mind for what felt like forever. So much that until last month was when Kate decided to take it while she was sleeping and throw it away, Deena hadn't gotten much sleep since then as she struggled each night to fall asleep. She'd always pretend to be asleep whenever Kate and Simon would visit her to check on her as she was still hurt from their breakup and couldn't help but wonder if she was still ever on Deena's mind.

It was the night of the first Football Game in a while as they had just came back from break and it was Football season. She wasn't looking forward to it at all but she put all the stuff that she either had of Sam's or had with Sam and decided to give it to her at the game tonight, yet the most important part about this was that she had to go give it to Sam herself.

That was until she came up with a plan to hopefully get Kate to do it for her as Kate and Simon have also been pretty bummed out about Sam's leaving. Kate because Sam was her best cheerleader apart from her and thought that her and Kate were quite good friends since Sam started off in the group only because she talked to Deena a few times.

Then Simon... he was upset by this as she always defended him in Deena's complaints whenever he tried to crack a joke when it was serious or whenever Deena or Kate thought he was bothering somebody, they would cut him off yet Sam would always tell him to continue and complain at Deena for it later as they both knew that the only reason they stand up for one another is because no one used their voice to stand up for them. So, no matter where or what they were doing, if Kate and Deena ever told Simon that he was being too loud or he was rambling on too much, Sam would always ask him to continue and the two would go into a conversation of their own.

And when they were dating, Deena felt over the moon that Sam was getting along with her friends but now? Now she hated that Sam dragged Kate and Simon into her spell of kindness and left them to be tortured with the longing thought of her one day coming back to Shadyside and living with Deena so that they could all be happy again.

But no... each day that rolled past, faded and faded and became a distant memory.

Simon bursted into Deena's room seeing her fast asleep yet wearing her band clothes as she was trying to take a nap before everything, but the sound of him and Kate bursting in, awoke the girl,

"Rise and shine sleeping beauty, we have a game to go too!" Simon cheered excitedly as he was wearing green paint on his face and dressed up as a witch, background on the reason behind that was because he was our mascot and he took it very seriously. Deena groaned and shook her head.

"No, go without me..." Deena whined out as she turned to face the wall but was dragged off the bed by Simon and Kate, when she opened her eyes after a loud thump, she saw that she was lying on the ground at the foot of the bed,

"Come on, Deena. Just one more time and we won't drag you." Kate told her in a false-hope type of way. Deena and Simon both turned to her looking at her dumbly, "Yeah, even I don't believe myself." She scoffed out which made Deena roll her eyes; Simon helped her up and the two walked downstairs, Deena shouted on Josh and before they knew it, they were headed to school to get on the bus to head to Sunnyvale.
