A Touch

The curtain was still drawn between Emre and Can. Aziz and Ibriam were sitting in a chair against the wall so they could see both of them. Aziz sat watching as Sanem touched Can running her finger through his hair, placing a hand on his cheek and rubbing his beard. She then would run her hand gently down his arm then picking up his hand and gently placing kisses on it. She kept repeating the jestures showing much Love in her eyes toward his oldest son. Next he would watch Leyla with Emre. She just would hold his hand and once in a while place one kiss on the top of it. Aziz didn't mean to compare how these two responded toward his sons. Aziz leaned into Ibriam and whispered to him. "Watch these two. You can see how ones touch can really effect a man. I will make a bet with you after you observe that Can recovers quicker than Emre." Ibriam sat there and watched them for quite awhile. "I see what you mean"........."People don't realize what a touch can do for each other. Can and Sanem always have to touch one other in some way or form. He could be standing right next to her and will grab strands of her hair and play with it. These two show so much compassion toward each other in small jestures like what you are seeing. That is what works for them. And Ibriam its has alot to do with how one is raised. If you don't show affection and Love to a child as they grow, they will not know how to show or give it to their Lover. The say [You reap what you sow] is so true in this life. I tried to instill that in Can as he grew up. You don't have to be a mother to show it too. Men put on a tough outwardly appearance but, on the inside if you express it and tell them every day of their lives that you Love them. It will reflect on how you treat a woman and a child when you have one."............"Can, really Loves Sanem. He and I have had many of talks when we were staking out a job on a mission. She is his life and I have seen that soft side of him. He has given me so much advice when it comes to treating a woman. You did a great job Aziz Bey. I just don't understand Emre and why he is so different from Can."..........."It has to do with being raised by a mother that never really showed him what a woman needs emotionally, yes physically is just as important but, mentally it will screw your head up if your aren't getting that affection. I tried to show their mother but, she keep me at arms length. She was a greedy woman and only cared about herself. Emre, what I understand through our counseling sessions never received it from Huma even though he lived with her. That's why he became so jealous of Can and thought if he ruined him he would get me all to himself. As far as Leyla and Sanem are concerned, their Parents treated them equal. These women were shown Love through both of Mevkibe and Nihat. Leyla tried so hard to show Emre but, look where it got them. Emre held back and didn't know how to show Leyla the affection she got from her parents because he lacked it from Huma. It ruined their marriage and I told Emre that one day when we were talking alone and tried to explain to him that touch can be a powerful way of communicating emotions non-verbally. It offers a subtle a more nuanced approach in which we interact with others. He lacked that with Leyla.
I told him to watch Can with Sanem and unfortunately by the lack he gave Leyla it pulled them further apart and I don't know if it would even help to rebuild their relationship.   Touch can be the most bonding, emotionally intimate experience in life that any couple can have but, if one is lacking that it will tear any relationship apart. Trust me when I tell you this, for I have experienced it with my first marriage. Emre still has a long way to go in that department and if he don't work on that he will never be happy." They both continued to sit there in silence watching. Ibriam paid more attention to Sanem's hand jestures toward Can as he took it all in wondering if his dear friend will pull through. He than asked Aziz "Do you think Can is aware of her caressing him even though he is sleeping?"........"Honestly Ibriam, I do believe he does. Like I told you touch is what works for them and with Sanem doing this to him now. I truly believe he feels it and healing is working within him as we speak. They have such a strong connection. Can and Sanem are healing each other every single day which should show you, with all that these two have been through. They are still together drawing strength from one another. Most couples now a days are taking the easy way out and leave but not Can and Sanem." With that being said Sanem stood up and gave Can a kiss on the part of his mouth that the tube was not on she then said "I will be back my Love. I need to call Mom and check on the twins" She walks away and leaves the room. Aziz then went over to him and sat holding his hand while Sanem was making her phone call. Leyla leaned back the recliner placing the pillow behind her head and covering herself with the blanket that the nurse had provided, closed her eyes and drifted of to sleep. Ibriam got up and went out of the room and joined Sanem in the waiting room. He wanted to talk to her in private and this gave him the opportunity to do so. He waited for her to end the call. He sat there watching her as she closed her eyes with tears running down her cheek. "Sanem are you ok"........."I don't know. I am trying so hard to be strong for Can right now. I hope he wakes up soon and he recovers fast. I don't know what I would do if I loose him"........"He will be fine. I have watched you with him. Can we talk before you head back in his room. Your Dad is by his side. Leyla is sleeping in the chair next to Emre"....... "Sure, I need to ask you a huge favor too. I need to go to the farm if it is possible" Ibriam looked at her noticing that she was about to loose it So, he got up and went to sit next to her. He layed her head on his shoulder letting her cry her heart out.
