A Legacy Lives On

Sanem had taken the twins up to the nursery to put them down for hopefully a long nap since they had been up all morning and playing in the pool. Bulut had return and sat down to show Can all the photos that he had taken of the warehouse. They were layed out and connected at each shot to get a better view of the whole area. Mihriban had a large poster board that they taped the pictures on so everyone could see the layout and hung it up as the Men talked waiting for the women to return.

A half an hour later after the men talked the women begin to come out as they placed trays of snacks on the bar.
In walks Aunt Remide when she got word about it and came over to give her feed back on the building. Sanem was the last one to walk out with another paper in her hand. There were no seats left so she pulled up a bar stool sat down and took a deep inhale than exhaled before she began to talk. Ayhan sat next to her with a pad in her hands to take notes for Sanem. All eyes were now on both of them.

"First let me say one thing before I explain anything. Can, remember the night that we talked on the phone and I told you there was something else that I wanted you to do."......."Yes I remember"......"This briefcase has things in it that I wanted you to get for me but, unfortunately things changed and I had to tell Ibriam, Papa Aziz and Uncle Mitat about it so they would let me on the farm to get it myself. I Love you. The last thing that I wanted was to keep it from you and sorry that you have to find out about it with everyone else. I truly wanted to talk to you privately first."........"I understand"........"Here is a contract agreement that I need your signature on to become my partner in this new endeavor that is about to be presented. Would you accept it and sign it."......"Let me see it" The contract gets passed over to him from Bulut that was leaning against the bar. All eyes were now on Can. He reads it and saw it was dated for today and signed by Sanem on the top line. "What will happen if I refuse" An expression of sadness began to appear on Sanem's face "Just kidding, where is the pen" Bulut walks over and hands one to him "Here is a second copy for you to sign too. That way I have a copy also" Can signed them both, then Bulut signed them and placed a notarized stamp on each copy. "OK, now tell us what I sign myself into" Can giving a wink at Sanem. Bulut gives her the briefcase and everyone watches as she put in the combination and opens its. Bulut whispers to her what to show first. It has been over a year since she last saw this. Bulut gives it to Aziz to begin passing it around. "This is the patent for my creams and perfume line. You will notice my Gram's signature is on it for giving me authorization to use her recipes only. She also has placed some in this envelope that were passed down to her from her mother. No one has ever seen these and I laminated them myself to preserve her handwriting" She has Bulut give it to Nihat so he could see his Grams writing. Nihat began to tear up when he saw it. Mevkibe and Leyla were looking at it too. They then passed it to Can so he could see it. "Mihriban was kind enough to bring the other recipes that she had written in a journal to save for me and I started a new one of my own. They are locked up in Papa Aziz's safe in his office."......"Would you like me to get them so everyone can see" Mihriban asked. Sanem nodded yes as she pulled out the next envelope. Bulut was keeping everything organized when things were handed back to him. He than whispered to her "Do you really want them to see how much you got from the settlement?"........ "No they don't need to know all of it except what is in the case. Give it to Can to see" Bulut walks over and whispered in Can ear. This is only for you to see. No one else needs to know" He first read the contract that Asli wanted Sanem to become partners for the Perfume Company that she took over that Fabri owned and saw the stamp Denied on it. Followed by the legal documents from the courts with the totals of settlement on them. Can's eyes got big as saucers got up and walked up stood directly in front of Sanem so no one could hear. "Are these totals correct? Did you get that much?" ...... Bulut and Sanem said at the same time "Yes"....... He then stood there next to them seeing many other envelopes in the briefcase. Sanem whispers to Can and Bulut "How much do you think the warehouse is worth?" Everyone was busy looking at the recipe journal that Mihriban had brought out not really paying attention. The both of them looked over at the poster board trying to figure it out. "Do you want to ask Aunt Remide Can"........ "No Bulut! Baby why do you want to know"......."Because I want to pay her for the building and the property. The last thing I want is for somebody to start running their mouth about it being given to me"........"OK, I get that but......."Can stop, after what you went through with Emre I don't want any more shit to happen. Just give me something so I can give her some money in front of everybody. That way they witness it before their very eyes."........."Can, she does have a point"........"Knowing on my Aunt she will refuse it or give us a very low number. Let me think. Where is your laptop?"......"On the desk in our bedroom"........"Ayhan, will you run upstairs and get it for me"........."Sure"......"I need to sit down, I feel light headed. I'll search what properties are going for on the Island and we'll figure out what to pay her.".......Can goes and sits in the lounger to rest as Gamze comes out to give him his medication as scheduled. Sanem grabs food from off the bar to have him eat with a glass of lemonade. "Can, I think you should go lay down for awhile after you eat. You have not rested much. I'll finish this up later when we get this together more." Sanem turns to everyone and said "We will talk later, Can is not feeling well and he needs to rest."........"OK not a problem. Just let us know. I think we all need to rest. Aziz said. The recipe books were gathered and put away. Sanem and Can went upstairs to rest while the babies were still sleeping. And the two of them would talk privately with Bulut about everything so Can would not be in the dark about what Sanem was planning.
