Private Time is Needed

Sanem was up before the sun rose, so she quietly slipped out to go get a large cup of coffee and a muffin from the little shop next to the Hospital. She went and sat on a bench by the waterfront to watch the sun rise. She had sent a text to Leyla to let her know where she was at. It wasn't long after that Leyla came out to join her after getting herself something. They sat there not saying a word when finally Leyla spoke. "Sanem, today is a new day. I feel that something good will come out of it"........"I truly hope so. Let's video chat Mom and Dad. I know they are up now with Deniz and Ates" Sure enough Nihat answered the phone. The twins were playing on the floor so Nihat turned the phone to them so they could see each other. They got so excited when they heard Sanem's voice. They chatted awhile and told them what was going to happen with Can this morning. Sanem promised to call them when Can's results came back. The call was ended and the two of them headed back up to the room. Emre was awake and sitting up as the nurse was tending to him. "Your awake Emre! How are you feeling"......."Like shit. I actually woke up for a short while last night. You were sound to sleep. It was so nice to see you first thing Leyla"........"Why didn't you wake me?"......."Like I said I went right back to sleep. Good Morning Sanem, how is Can?"........"Good Morning, glad to see you are  awake and sitting up" She pulls the curtain across so Emre could see his brother. "Oh, no"........."He is getting a scan done this morning. The Doctor may remove the tube." The nurse went over to Can and replaced his IV bags with full ones and was preparing him to go down for his scan. Two interns walked in and took him. Sanem gave him a kiss then softly said to him "I want to hear good results about you. See you when you get back" and went to sit on the window ledge looking out at the sea. Leyla sat on Emre's bedside and took his hand in hers as they looked each other in the eyes "I am so sorry Leyla"......."Emre, stop we will talk when you are feeling better. I am here for you that's all that matters right now. Your Dad will be here later to visit. He stayed at the farm last night. You need to get yourself better first ok"........"Ok"

An hour had gone by and still no Can. Aziz and Ibriam walked in the room and were so thrilled to see Emre awake. Leyla went over by Sanem so Aziz and Emre could spend sometime together. Sanem had been quite since Can was taken for his test. She was trying so hard to not be resentful toward Emre since he was awake and Can wasn't. So she felt it was best to be quiet until Can  returned. She left the room and waited outside the door on a bench. The elevator door open out came the Doctor, he saw Sanem sitting there and went over to talk to her "How did Can's test go?"........"Very well! The swelling has subsided and I removed the tube, thats why it took longer. He should be coming up shortly. I also backed off some of the medication to gradually wake him up. I can't tell you how long it will take him. It could be tonight, tomorrow or a few days from now.........Sanem, I need to tell you that I won't know if any damage has been done to his brain meaning having any memory loss until he wakes up. Fluid on the brain can cause some issues, all you can do is hope for the best."......."If he has any memory loss with it be permanent?".......... "No, it would be temporary and possibly short term memory loss. He had trauma to his head and it effects everyone differently. We will just have to see  how he is when he wakes up.".......... "Ok"......."It will be alright. Hang in there. I need to go check on Emre and some of my other patients. I will see you later today alright. Why don't you get out of here for awhile and freshen yourself up. He will be well taken care of and if anything changes I personally will call you"......."Thank You. When you go in to the room will you tell his father and brother what is going on with Can and have Ibriam come out."........"Sure" The Doctor went over to the nurses station and grabbed the files for his patients and walked into the room to do his check on Emre. Can came out of the elevator. Sanem stopped the interns to give him a kiss "Can, I need to get out of here for awhile. I promise that I will be back. I Love You and will see you later" she nodded for them to go. Ibriam walked out with Sanem's things in his hands as she was waiting for the elevator. Ibriam had heard everything that the Doctor said about Can when he came up to her "Are you alright. The Doctor just explained everything to us"......."Ibriam, please just get me out of here for awhile. I need time alone"........."OK, first let's get you some breakfast and than I will take you to the farm" Leyla came out just as Sanem and Ibriam got on the elevator and the door closed. She stood there for a minute and went back to the room. "How is she Leyla" Aziz asked "I don't know she left with Ibriam. I can't believe she didn't say goodbye to any of us" The Doctor turned to face all of them as he was standing along side Can's bed "After I told her what could happen to her Husband's memory. I ordered her to get out of here for awhile. She needs time to herself right now to absorb this. Be Thankful that your Husband is on the mends. She will be back later. Give that girl some breathing room. You know what. Can needs to be in a quite setting. I am going to move Emre to another room so Can and Sanem can have some private time. Are you alright with that Aziz Bey."........."Yes, go for it.  Leyla let Sanem be I know where she is going. If she wants to talk let her come to us when she is ready. Do you understand?" All Leyla could do was nod her head yes to Aziz. "Nurse is the room next door available?"........."Yes"......."Good, have Emre moved to that room when you get a chance. I will see you people later. My other patients need to be seen. Good day" and out the door the Doctor went. Aziz nodded in agreement and mouthed the word Thank You to him.
