Zed hated hospitals. The beeping monitors, the footsteps echoing constantly through the halls, the uncomfortable beds, all made for a long, sleepless night.

It was early in the morning, but Zed had given up on sleep. He rolled over, grabbing the sonogram images from the bedside table before flipping back over onto his back.

Zed flipped slowly through the images, memorizing each one. His mind took mental notes on the changes in the baby's growth and position in Addison's womb. It was incredible how much a tiny person could grow in just a few months.

Zed stared at the final image, his mind whirling. The sonogram only showed the basic outline of the baby's features in black and white, but Zed couldn't help but wonder what his daughter would look like when she was born. Would her hair be white like Addison's? Or green like his? Would her eyes be blue? Or would they be brown like his own? Would her skin be a pale grayish color like his own or a rosy pink like Addison's? Would she look more like Addison or himself? He hoped she looked like Addison, he couldn't imagine a little girl looking like him. Then again, his father always said he took more after his mother than himself. And if she had Addison's blue eyes.... maybe she'd look like his mom.

Zoey was currently the only member of their family with blue eyes, but she took more after their father than their mother in looks. Another little blue eyed girl in their family would be cool.

Zed traced the image with his finger and sighed. In the end, it didn't matter what she looked like or who she took after. Zed knew he'd love his daughter regardless. He already did.

A soft knock snapped Zed from his thoughts and he turned his attention to the door. "Come in."

The door burst open and before Zed could even comprehend what was happening, a set of petite arms wrapped around him, hugging him tight.

"Zed! You're awake! You're really awake!"

Zed immediately recognized Zoey's voice and hugged her back as she sniffled into his chest. "Hey, don't cry Zo. I'm okay."

Zoey sat up, looking him in the eyes. "Not entirely. Dad told me everything." She reached over and placed a hand on his knee. "You really can't feel anything?"

Zed shook his head solemnly. "No, nothing. I mean, I can see your hand is on my knee, but I can't feel it."

Zoey hugged him again. "I'm just glad your alive."

"Us too."

Zed's head snapped up, quickly realizing they weren't alone. Wanda, Bonzo, Bree, Wyatt, Eliza, Wynter, Walker, Willa, Wade, Will, Winnie, Wren, Bucky, and Ziva had all crowded into the room.

Zed looked over the crowd, studying his friends carefully. He remembered Bree being pregnant before the accident, but now she looked ready to pop any day now.

The wolves and Eliza looked the same, as did Bucky and Ziva, until he noticed something glimmering on her hand. Was that an engagement ring?

Lastly, he looked at Wanda. She was smiling brightly at the two of them, but when he looked closer, Zed realized her eyes weren't focused on him at all. They were focused on Zoey.

"Hey guys." Zed greeted, turning his attention back to the entire group. "Looks like I've missed quite a bit."

"Maybe just a little." Wyatt teased, causing the others to chuckle.

Eliza playfully smacked his chest before turning to Zed. "What my boyfriend means is that we're so glad to see you're awake."

"It's good to be back. Mostly, anyway." Zed replied.
