Twelve ♥ Scared Of The Future

"See ya later, boys!", Tommy salutes and ends the stream with more than 130K people watching. You're silently staring in front of you, still thinking about the stupid tweet Tommy just tweeted on your account. Tommy sighs contently and takes a sip from his water while turning his chair around. "Tess. You bring in a lot of viewers. You should stream with me more often! Why don't you start on Twitch as well?" You ignore your twin and get out of your chair.

When he sends you a questionable look, you lift your shoulders and reach for the door. "I'm not really in the mood to talk to you", you say, sounding a bit more unfriendly than you were supposed to. "What do you mean?", Tommy stands up as well and crosses his arms. You ignore him for the second time and leave his room, carefully closing the door behind you. You make a beeline to your own bedroom and flop down on your bed.

You still haven't talked to Jade since yesterday evening. You don't even know what you're supposed to say to someone you just kissed. Especially when it's your best friend. Jade is not the only one you won't talk to, now that you just ditched your twin. You probably have to tell it your parents as well... A strange and heavy feeling appears in your stomach. Tommy didn't do anything wrong, and now you're just not telling him that you kissed a girl.

You have never kept a secret from Tommy, as far as you can remember. Well, maybe one time, when you accidentally told his childhood crush that your brother was in love with her. But he doesn't have to know that. 

You hear Tommy's ringtone sound through the thin wall. You hum along since he already has the same ringtone for four years. To your surprise, the ringtone doesn't stop and continues to spread its happy melody. Tommy just refuses to pick his phone up, and the music stops eventually. Maybe he's also avoiding someone. Just like you are avoiding your very own twin.

After only seconds your own phone starts to vibrate.

Tubbo? Why would he call you? You quickly press 'accept' (of course) and press your phone against your ear. Toby's voice rings through your phone. "HI TESS!" "HI TUBBO!" You immediately lower your voice, since Tommy can hear you as good as you can hear him through the wall. "Why are you calling me?", you say, not trying to offend him. You hear him chuckle softly. "Well. I just wanted to talk to someone since Ranboo is ignoring me for no reason. I called Tommy first, but he just didn't pick up. Is he doing something else?"

You swallow slowly. "Uh, yeah! He had to help my mother with the dishwasher, or something", you lie, not trying to shit-talk your twin. Maybe he's angry at you and wasn't in the mood to answer Tubbo. "But I have time to talk!", you quickly add. "Did something special happen today?" It's silent on the other side of the line. "Nope!", Tubbo eventually says, "I just watched your stream and I think it was pretty funny."

"I don't think it was that funny", you say, not kidding. Tubbo takes it in like a joke and laughs softly. "You just shouldn't have laughed at a fucking Wii bowling video!", he replies, "And everyone knows that you're not gay, so the tweet doesn't matter." You open your mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. "Yeah- Uh- But I think that-", you stammer as you try to find words. This doesn't happen to you often. You just don't talk to people that much, but if you talk, you always know what to say.

"You okay?", Tubbo asks, his sweet voice almost breaking you. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. Why would you even cry? What's there to cry about? While Tubbo is patiently waiting for your answer, the heavy feeling in your stomach becomes even heavier. You take a deep breath, trying to find the courage to tell Tubbo all of it. But you don't even have to say anything. "Wait. Do you like girls?" You squint your eyes together when you hear your brother's best friend say the sentence.
