No, no, no, that's too cute. Your hand ruffles through the classic but beautiful Valentine roses. Jade had given you hints about all kinds of weird Valentine gifts, but you said a pretty bouquet of roses would make you the happiest. She gave you white, pink and red roses, and you hope they never die. But that's pretty hard with Tess Simons as the owner.

Even though it's your first Valentine with Jade, this certainly isn't your first Valentine's day gift. No, you've never been in a relationship before, although you're clearly the hottest person on this Earth. The only one who has given you a gift every single Valentine since you were six years old, was Tommy. Only because you gave him something back too, of course.

Chocolate and candy, coloured socks and stuffed animals, you have always had the tradition that Tommy would be your Valentine, and you would be his. Your high school always had that thing where you could send a heart balloon to your Valentine (anonymously or not) with or without a message. Your friends always wondered from who you had exactly got your balloon, and you told them you had a secret lover. Thinking about it, your twin brother being your secret lover sounds kinda gross.

But now you told Tommy that Jade is now your Valentine, and the tradition would sadly be broken. Tommy said he didn't really mind, but you could see in his eyes that he was a bit upset by it. You also wanted to give Tommy a weird gift, but you can't just have two Valentines, right? You gave Jade new drumsticks, which she had been very clearly been hinting about too. You gave her two sets: One with too many hearts on it (just because it's funny) and one basic set with her name on it.

You gasp as you hear a retching sound behind you. You quickly turn around only to see Tommy, who stayed over this weekend, grinning. "Love is gross, Tess. I can't believe you have a girlfriend!" You grab the roses from the kitchen counter and put them under your twin's nose. "I don't think this is gross. You're obviously just jealous! By the way, it's too long ago I've heard you talking about Alice..."

You watch Tommy's cheeks closely, but he keeps them from becoming red. "That's none of your business", he simply says, not revealing anything. You make a disappointed sound as you put the roses back on the counter, searching for a big glass which you can fill with water. "Oh, come on! I tell you everything about me and Jade!", you say. Tommy snorts. "Not like I've asked you to tell those things", he laughs. You find a glass and put it under the tap. "I know you secretly love the gossip, Tommy."

"But have you bought something for her?", you keep on trying. Tommy frowns and shakes his head. "Uh, no. I didn't think I had to. Did I have to?" You sigh as you place the roses in the water. "Of course you have to! She is your girlfriend, right?" You hear nothing and turn around to look your brother in his eyes. "Right?" Tommy shrugs. "I don't know", he just says. "What do you mean, you don't know?!", you say. Tommy shrugs again, now looking a bit mad. "I just don't know. It has never been made official! We haven't even been on a date yet!"

You lower your voice as you notice this is getting out of hand. "I'm sorry for being nosy, I shouldn't be. But when is the last time you texted her?" Tommy bites his lip and pulls out his phone. He scrolls a bit, saying nothing. "Three weeks ago", he says. "Wait, three weeks?", you say, not understanding. I thought Alice was Tommy's girlfriend now. Well, now you think about it, you never really hear about Alice anymore.
