chapter eleven

The next morning I wake up next to Lorenzo and smiles, I don't know why I feel so happy right now but I can't help it, for a weird reason Lorenzo makes me feel safe. I know we haven't known each other that long but he's my safe place. I give him a little slap in the face "wake up lazy head" he opens his eyes slowly and looks at me "good morning fireball how did you sleep" I look at him and smiles "I slept like a baby". I chuckle and I kept that continuous eye contact, he grabbed my face gently while kissing my bottom lip softly.

I kissed him back and smiled "you're really addicted aren't you?" He rolls his eyes but a slight smile appeared "I saw that!". I laugh, he snuggles his head onto my shoulder, kissing it gently. "Softie". I giggle, and he rolls his eyes again "Mhmm". I repeat him in a funny way " Mhmm" and giggle, he looks at me " you are playing with fire now fireball and I'm not sure you are prepared for that " he laughs and holds me close to his body and kisses my forehead " you are really addicted Enzo " I let out a little laugh and smiles at him

after a while of cuddling the nurse comes to Lorenzo's room " Mrs.Cohen could you step out of the room for a few min? we need to take some tests on Mr. Conti. I look at Lorenzo and he looks back at me then at the nurse " She can stay if she wants to" I sit down on the chair next to him while looking at him while the nurse takes a lot of tests of him "I will come back when the results are in Mr.Conti and she walks out of the room and closes the door.

I walk to his bed again and lays on his chest while having one of my legs over his legs " now it's only me and you here again hmm " he laughs and places a kiss on my forehead. I snuggle my face into his chest and let's out a giggle and think to myself " what's going on with me I've never acted like this before I won't show Lorenzo how addicted I am to him not yet"we just lay in the bed and talk about everything, I haven't told him about my dead husband yet, but I will when the time is right, and now is not the best time especially since we are still the hospital and he woke up from a coma not that long ago and I don't want him to stress or open his stitches. call me selfish or not I don't care at this point, I'm doing what I think is right.

Time passed by and a few hours later the nurse came back " Mr.Conti the results look good, ur body is healing as it should be, you will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, but you can't stay alone when you are getting discharged" he looks at me and I answer the nurse " I will stay with him" I see on his face that he's shocked by my answer, I guess he didn't see that coming. he looked at me with a weird look " you don't need to fireball" I looked at him and breathe out heavily " yes I do, you got shot because of me so now it's my turn to help you Enzo don't argue with me on this one okay?"he nods and smiles at me. the nurse look at us both " okay now that's decided, Mrs. Cohen will stau with you till you are fully healed" the nurse goes out the room again and we just lay in the bed relaxing then time pass by and we fall in sleep
