Chapter 30

"This is it, right?" tita asked when we stopped by my condominium's building.

I smiled, then I leaned to peck a kiss on her cheeks, just like what we always do when we meet. Nang makalabas ako ay ngumiti ako at sabi ni tita ay aantayin niya akong nakapasok bago siya umalis.

I love her... really. It's like I know and I can really feel that she genuinely cares.

I was at the elevator when I opened my phone. I saw tons of notifications from my mother. 13 missed calls. It made me panic so I instantly called back. Buti na lang rin wala akong kasabay na tao.

She didn't answer on the first call. So, I tried calling again and again. It took me 4 more calls before she picked it up.

[hey, ma? Is it okay there? Are you okay?] bungad ko agad at saka naglakad papunta sa condo ko nang bumukas ang elevator.

[oh, yes. I was calling you a while ago because I headed there to your condo.]

[Oh, I was out with Reece and Jade. I forgot. Mahina rin po signal sa mall.]

[It's okay. I just wanted to talk about something in person.]

It seems... important. She sounds serious. I wonder what it is about.

I changed to my casual clothes and headed to the mansion. Mother told me to go there if I can. I just booked a car since I feel so damn tired, I don't think I can drive. It took me half an hour to arrive there.

I don't even have any idea why I have to be here. And before I forget, I still have a book signing tomorrow— same time and place.

Confusion filled me when the house looked like a haunted house. It's so damn dark. You won't even assume that someone is inside because there's no lights on.

"Ma?" malakas na pagtawag ko para marinig niya ako. Dahan-dahan kong hinawakan ang doorknow ng isang pinto para tingnan kung bukas ito.

I tried to open it and it did. It's not even locked? What the hell happened here? Did someone come here other than my mother? I'm so nervous, kapag ito talaga— tatawag na ko ng pulis.

I turned on the flashlight in my phone as I opened the door just in case. My soul almost left my body when I heard people start screaming and laughing— and then suddenly the light in the living room was opened.

Darn. These people really. Kish and Keith were laughing their lungs out while my tita Ylena welcomed me with her arms.

I guess that's why my mother called me. So they finally moved here.

"Happy kayo?" I rolled my eyes at my cousins after I hugged tita Ylena.

My mother looked at me apologetically, "Sorry, we tried to stop them." she explained.
