    Integrity certainly wasn't something that you strongly believed in, especially not with what you were doing at the moment. Your lungs struggled as you held your breath, sweat dripping down your temple, your hand twitching in anticipation. You quickly scanned your surroundings before sending a nod to your accomplice. His eyes flickered over to you, shaking his head as if to tell you no. Did you listen?

    You had gleefully swiped the last volume off the shelf, hastily shoving it into your sweatshirt, a smirk painted across your face.

     "Shit--" your friend, Kallik had whispered harshly, his dark brown and red hair seemingly frizzing out like a frightened felines' fur. "We 'gotta go!"

    The male firmly grasped your upper arm before sprinting out of the store, a balding male who seemed to be in his thirties, running after you two. " 'Ya shoulda' listened to me! He saw you snag it! Idiot!"

    You playfully gasped, "Shut up mister Yoriichi look-alike! You fucking dumbass, you should've told me!" you'd retaliated, stumbling after him.

    "I don't look like an anime character you--" he tripped as he attempted to take a sharp turn, his long braided hair hitting you in the face. The two of you landed roughly on the ground.

    "Get back here 'ya thieves!" your pursuer screeched angrily, waving a clenched newspaper around. Your tall male friends' eyes widened before he practically threw you forward.

    "Ow! Why'd you do that you ass!" you whimpered, holding your lower back as you sat up from where you'd landed.

    "Run! I'll see you la--" he was cut off once again as the bald shop owner stomped on his back. Poor Kallik.

    Your adrenaline finally decided to come greet you as you jumped to your feet and darted away from the angry old man and your friend. Unfortunately, the world didn't like you much. The older man ran after you, leaving the young redheaded male behind, groaning in pain as he laid face first on the ground.

    After a bit of chasing, you began crossing the large bridge that led over the harbor. Stupidly, you hadn't noticed the swarm of traffic that'd seemed to appear out of nowhere. As a result of not wanting to be crashed into, you swerved into the railings, unintentionally toppling over them.

    Your pupils shrunk as time seemed to slow, the latest volume of demon slayer you'd tried stealing, flew out of your sweatshirt. The water beneath you seemed to be smirking, as if making fun of you for throwing yourself off a bridge.

"Shit, I forgot I can't swim--"

    Your eyelids felt like led, your body occasionally twitching as you laid face first in what felt like snow. Letting out a strangled groan, you'd pushed yourself up into a sitting position. Oh, it was snow. That was strange, it was the middle of spring wasn't it?
