Manik ki dulhaniya

Chapter 25

Nandini's POV

As we reached downstairs, it was only mom and dad. The rest of them were nowhere to be seen. We took their blessings and I went to the kitchen after asking them for coffee/tea. I quickly prepared it all and come out and sat down after handing them their respective cups. Sipping their tea, they started asking stuff.

Maa- Vaise tum dono neeche kyu aa gaye?

Papa- Manik? Jana nahi hai tum dono ko?

Maa- aur beta tumne Saree kyu pehni hai?

Papa- kal reception hai toh main kya bolta hu tum dono lunch ke baad hi vapas aana, thike?. Subah subah aane ki jarurat nahi hai.

Maa- Nandu tu change karle comfortable clothes mein. Roj roj yeh Saree aur traditional dresses ki jarurat nahi hai. Manik tune kuch bola nahi?

Papa- Manik tum dono rest kyun nahi karr rahe ho? My daughter needs it, I'm sure tere vajahse hi voh bhi aayi neeche.

Seeing them like this brought tears to my eyes. They really care so much for us, it's unbelievable. I got up and sat next to maa and side hugged her, giving dad a flying kiss.

"Arey aap log shaant ho jao! Maa, I like wearing these clothes isiliye pehna plus abhi 2-3 days toh pehnungi. Uske baad pakka. Thank you for this. And Papa... Manik ne nahi voh maine hi usse kaha. Wanted to spend time with you guys so... Also Manik? We're going somewhere? Why?" I said answering them. And looking at Manik with questioning eyes.

Papa- Arey Nandu beta shaadi ke baad ki first night hain tum dono ki toh .... Privacy!

I blushed and looked down. "Appa ki tarha aap bhi tease karte ho Papa. Not fair! Manik bolo na kuch!" I looked at Manik hoping he'd save me but he laughed at me!!!

Evil man.

M- sahi toh keh rahe hai dad. Kyun tumhe nahi jana?

He was teasing me too! This is outrageous. Aaj isse bataungi raatko. I huffed at him and looked at maa with puppy eyes asking for her to save me.

Maa- bas karo aap dono. Manik maine tujhe yeh sikhaya hai? Shaadi ke din hi meri beti ko pareshaan kar raha hai!

Maa twisted Manik's ear and I showed him my tongue as he uttered a bunch of 'sorry's'. Aisa hi hona chahiye. "Jao tum dono nikalne ki tayari karo aur vaise Manik... Vibha kaha hai? Usne kaha tha voh humare saath hi rahegi for a week. Cabir Mukti Dhruv aur Aliya 1 hour mein aa rahe hai vaapas. They said tum logo ka kuch kaam hai so come down in an hour okay?"  We got up and I cleared out the table as I took everybody's cups and put them in the kitchen.

"Nandu beta, jaa upar Manik ke sath time spend kar. We have servants. You don't have to" Maa came and stood near the entrance of the kitchen. I turned towards her and responded "I know maa, lekin it's okay. Cups uthana thodi koi hectic kaam hai" I walked towards her and gave her a hug while thanking her and then I left from there to go to our room. Manik must be waiting for me! I climbed the stairs and barged in our room to find Manik laying on his stomach on the bed..... Asleep?

"Manik?" I said softly while going near him. He was fast asleep, didn't respond. I shaked him a little and he said "aao tum bhi so jao aur mujhe bhi sone do" he pulled me by the wrist and I fell to his side. Within the next second he was on top of me, nuzzling in my neck. It tickled me. "Manik please!" I said and pushed him lightly.
