Nandini's POV

"Oh my god!!!! Kaise ho tum? Nithya kaisi hai? I've not seen you guys for years!!!" I literally exclaimed and squealed in happiness as we hugged it out.

"All good. Main yaha vacation pe aya tha, suna tum bhi ayi ho toh socha mil lu. Nithya is good too, voh ab Australia mein hai with her husband. And mom dad bhi vahi hai. I keep moving around for my freelance projects toh ab break mila so thought I'd visit Mangalore once before i have to go to Mumbai for work" He sat down patting the place next to his as he finished speaking.

"That's great! I miss her so much. Meri baat hi nahi hui hai bohot time se. But chalo it's good she's settled and uncle aunty bhi vahi paas mein hai." I smiled at him and he returned it while Amms and Amma started asking him a bunch of questions.

"Acha vaise I'm about to head to the beach, voh toh bas 5 mins yaha aa gaya varna seedha beach jaa raha tha.... Chalogi? Like old times?" He asked raising one of his eyebrows at me and smiling.

"Haan sure, i don't mind" as i said that Amma asked him questions about his parents and all that.

As usual, i just got lost in thought.

I've never thought of settling out of India. I mean of course, if we do get to that point, I think we will but the life we have here, the routine, the culture, I don't think we will get it- as is, anywhere else in the world.

Manik and i don't want to live so far away from our parents. We are happy where we are.

"Nandu! Kaha kho gayi? Manik ka phone hai, yeh le baat kar" that got me out of my thoughts real quick. I checked the time and it was 4:40 pm right now.

Wow! I missed a whole lot of their conversation.

I guess he finished his meetings early today. He had told me he was busy as it was now Thursday and he was coming here on Saturday.

"Hello? Hello?? Nandini?" He called out while i got lost in thought for a split second being all silent.

"Manik! Free ho gaye? Khana khaya tha on time? Office mein hi ho? Bohot thak gaye hoge na?" I asked him everything in one go and he sighed making me wonder what bothered him.

"Haa, relax. Tum batao, kabse tumhe call kar raha tha.. but tumne answer nahi kiya.. bas aisehi phir Amma ko call kiya." I very well know usne aisehi call nahi kiya. He must've panicked and gotten all worried again.

I need to put my phone on loud, this was my fault I know.

"Sorry sorry, voh sote vakt silent pe rakh diya and then niche sab ke saath busy thi, phone pata nahi kaha hai." I thought reasoning it out was the best or it would've turned into a misunderstanding.

"Acha tum itni busy ho gayi that you didn't even miss your husband a little? I'm hurt ha, Jaan." He said sheepishly i could sense his tease on the phone itself.

His smile always mesmerized me and I'm glad he is smiling right now, especially after what happened and how it was between us.

"Husband ko? nahi kar rahi thi, he's a little khadoos na. Vaise bhi humne aaj subah hi toh baat ki thi" I somehow stopped myself from chuckling at him.

"Okay since my wife thinks I'm khadoos, I'm disconnecting the call. Matt Karo miss. Baat bhi matt karo okay?" He said in a tone trying to make it sound like he is angry when in reality he isn't.

"Acha baba wait, give me a minute okay?" I said to him and turned towards Amma and said to her "I need to go talk for a few minutes, Aryaman tum betho I'll be back in a few minutes" i tried being as polite as i could.
