Chapter 9

Nandini's POV

I woke up due to sun rays falling on my face. I looked everywhere but Manik kahi tha hi nahi. Kaha Chala gaya ye ladka. "Manik?" No response!. "Shayad Chala gaya" I tried to get out of bed but my arm hurts a lot. I tried again but god! The pain. Urgh. I laid back and the door opened. Amma came inside closing the door behind her , she came next to me and sat there. "Amma! Please help me get up na amma" she helped me and well we sat there in silence for a few seconds .... Amma broke down. "Amma! Amma please don't cry. Amma please. I am here na with u. I promise Amma I won't ever leave you" I just hugged her forgetting the pain "Nandu .... I thought main akeli ho gai. I cannot lose you too Nandu"
"Amma... You will never lose me infact ab toh Manik bhi hai. Amma. After marriage.... You are moving with us okay? Don't cry please" I kissed her on her forehead.
Manik entered the room "sorry! Did I interrupt ... I'll be bac---" "arey ruko beta. Hume ab nikalna hi chahiye .. help Nandu okay? Main tabtak discharge papers ka dekhti hu" with this Amma left us alone.

M- how are you feeling now?

N- Manik! Manik , tum kaha the?

M- mere saval ka javab toh do. Main toh bas Ghar gaya tha to freshen up. Sorry I left before you woke up

N- koi baat nahi. Vaise I'm good now that you're here. Umm Manik voh are you sure?

M- kis cheez ke baare mein nandini?

'nandini' it sounded perfect but he called me jaan most of the times.

N- umm the whole thing ki you'll be with me leaving your work.

M- I won't be leaving it ... Bas tumhare samne bethke karunga. Dw I don't have any such issues

N- acha vaise..... You'll sleep next to me?

He started coughing
I just laughed. "Manik! Chill. Mere room ke couch pe you can sleep if not with me. Choice is yours"

"Chalo ab , jaan" 

With that we were all ready to leave. Manik helped me up and picked me in his arms bridal style "Manik. Kya karr rahe ho? I can walk!  Tum---"

"Shhhh. Ekdam chup. I know you can walk lekin Mujhe aisa mauka milraha hai toh Kyu na uthau"

"Manik tum bhi na!" With that he placed me in the backseat and he sat next to me from the other side. Amma was sitting in the front passenger seat and Cabir was driving

C - ab kaisi ho tum , nandini?

N - I'm all fine Cabir. Tum kab aye? Baki sab kaha hai?

C - voh Baki sab ek kaam main busy hai thodi der mein tum milogi unko

N - acha thike. Vaise Manik. Mom dad? Mujhe unse milna hai. Kaafi time ho gaya main unhe Milne nahi aayi.

M - hum ghar pohochneke baad unhe bula lenge okay? Voh they were out of India toh voh aaj aajayenge. They were really tensed , voh log aaj ki pehli flight lekar aa rahe hai

N - thike.

Manik and I we're sitting really close. Manik slid his hand on my waist
I whispered to him "kya Kar rahe ho Manik?? Amma aur Cabir hai yaha"
He just winked at me. I shaked my head in disbelief ... There are more 15mins to reach and I'm sleepy. I closed my eyes and leaned my head on the seat. Within a jiffy I fell in deep slumber.

Manik's POV

Nandini was sleeping leaning her head on my chest. Her being in my arms feels amazing. It feels like home. We reached home and Amma turned towards me before leaving and said "Manik tum Nandu lekar aao hum chalte hai" Cabir and Amma got out and went inside. I couldn't help but stare at nandini. My jaan. These 3 months got us close ... can't believe ab bas 20 days reh gaye. I shaked her a little
N- hmm?
M- hum ghar pohoch gaye. Chalo jaan utho na
N- hmmm..
She opened her eyes pecked me on my cheeks and left. Yeh ladki bhi na ... I got out and nandini was waiting for me outside the door. I walked towards her and asked her to go in

Nandini's POV

I entered in and "welcome back nandini" everybody screamed. And by everybody I mean Amma , fab 5 , maa papa , navya aur Manik toh whispered in my ears in a husky tone "welcome back Meri jaan" I blushed and went and hugged maa and then touched maa Papa's feet for blessings
P- Meri beti. Kaisi ho tum Nandu? I'm sorry I failed as a father at keeping you safe

And a tear rolled down Papa's cheek
"Nahi papa aap please sorry mat boliye.... Aapki koi fault nahi hai. You're the best. Just like appa. I'm safe na now" I hugged him and he kissed me on my forehead I moved towards Amma "Nandu Aram se beta. Dheere----"
"Amma haath mein chot lagi hai pairo mein nahi. Main ekdum theek hu" she also kissed me on the forehead ... Fab 5 and nayva all hugged me together "acha bas ab. Nandini needs rest. Tum sab use itna jor se hug mat Karo lag jayega use" Manik said
C- waah Bhai. Hum hug Kare toh gunha hai. Tum hug Karo toh kuch nahi?
Mu- chodo Cabir ab hum toh jaise paraye ho Gaye na. Hum toh nandini ke kuch nahi lagte... Kyu Manik?
D & A- Manik bolo
M- aisa kuch nahi hai. Maine kaha usko hug Kiya aur? Uska haath aur na dukhe iss liye bola na Maine.
"Acha tum sab upar jao Nandu ke saath aur thoda timepass karlo tab Tak main aur nyo lunch ki tayari start Kar lete hai" saying this Amma and maa headed to the kitchen while Papa said "main lunch ke time toh nahi honga Nandu lekin main shaamko vaapas jarur Milne aaunga. Abhi ke liye take care okay?" He also left. Manik held me by my wait and we headed towards my room. Manik and I sat resting our backs with the headboard. I rested my head on manik's shoulder
N- thank you guys. Bohot acha laga tum sab aaye.

C- arey nandini thank you toh Mr. Romeo ko bolo

N- Kon Mr. Romeo?

M- cabir shut up.

Mu- yeh tumhara Manik!

They all giggled

A- acha nandini main aur dhruv chalte hai. Voh dhruv ke mausi ke Ghar Pooja hai

D- ha take care nandini , see you buddy!

N- arey lekin lunch toh karke jao

D- lunch phir kabhi jarur. Sorry. Take care.

They left and all I could think of was 'tumhara manik'. I couldn't stop blushing. Appa Kash aaj aap yaha hote. Apko pata hai Meri Shaadi ko bas thode din Bache hai. Appa Manik bohot acha hai. Voh Mera itna khayal rakhta hai. Apko bohot pasand Aya hota agar aap yaha hote. Appa mujhe Shaadi mein aapka aashirwaad chahiye. Manik brought me out of my thoughts and said "kaha kho gayi. Mukti aur Cabir jaa rahe hai"
"Oh sorry voh main..... Kuch nahi. Thodi der aur ruk jao na tum dono, lunch karke jao na"

Mu- voh Mujhe aur Cabir ko thoda kaam hai ... Navya bhi humare saath aa rahi hai. Hai na navyaaa?

Navya looked confused. Yeh chal Kya raha hai. "Arey ha Nandu hum bhi chalte hai ... Dhyaan rakhna apna" all three of them left leaving me and Manik the only ones in the room now.
M- nandini tum change karlo tab Tak main niche jaake mom aur maa se baat kar leta hu.

I smiled and went to the bathroom
