Star date: whenever
Location: still in space

After discovering a planet capable of sustaining life it felt like the mood of the ship completely turned around.

We learned it would take us roughly 2 years to reach this planet we decided to call Avos and plans were already underway.

We'd use our warpgates to set up better beacons and a few communication points on the planet. Problem is they would be a one way trip and we don't have any clue what the inhabitants would be like.

After a full week of planning we decided on what could quite possibly be a suicide mission to this planet which we decided to call Avos.

This would either mark a new chapter for humanity or end the story.

I closed the journal and headed out into the dimly lit hallways this time choosing to visit bar.

I was still running the numbers in my head to figure out what the best possible coordinates would be so we didn't just warp people into the ocean or something. Sure survival odds were low but better to give them a chance.

There was also the loss of contact. We decided on the teleboxes being our best shot as they could perform long distance communication even if it was text only.

"What ya want Kate?"

"Something with a lot of Alcohol. I wanna get drunk off my ass and regret it in the morning." I told him

"Ya know I can't give alcohol to minors Kate" the bartender replied

I just gave him a glare and said "I'm 24 years old." in an angry tone

He simply laughed before replying "maybe but you spent 6 years on ice so you're still a teenager by all accounts."

"Ugggh fine. Just gimme a bowl of ramen and glass of water. Carbonate so I can at least pretend I'm getting something." I said dejected

I may have been frozen but my brain was still functioning the whole time so it's not like the alcohol would mess with development but rules are rules I guess.

Not that it mattered in space when 90% of us were in a cold sleep until we reached a new planet or in my case temporarily for medical purposes.

Though I suppose mine was more psychological since I was the only person to lose a direct family member on the Carlesia.

So. 2 years. If I wanted I could probably cold sleep the rest of this but no I think it'd be best for me to stick it out.

And so the days passed and it was time to send the members. We agreed to warp them to probable locations signing a 500 mile radius based off of what the environmental scan gave us. We couldn't reliably check their statuses so it'd be up to them to log in with their teleboxes however long that took to receive a message from them.

I volunteered to help monitor the communications. I'd see this thing through or my name wasn't Kate Alans.

The party finally drew to a close with many officials leaving and a few that were staying over turning in for the night.

I was relieved as it went on for so long the medicine had worn off and I struggled to see again.

"Sophie could you please go get my glasses?" I whispered into her ear after grabbing her arm.

"At once princess."she bowed formally

"You can ca-"

"Not in a public setting like this princess." She knew exactly what I was going to say. Well so much for that I guess
