Chapter 21: Declaration of War

Hey everybody before this chapter begins I just wanted to say at this point I have basically the entire plot outlined (aside from possibly an epilogue) so the plan is to have a 5 act story and we are currently on act 2. Anyways on with the story

What the hell is going on

After my fight at the castle I decided to flee south and slowly was able to work out a very rough translation for the avosian language but now I saw a village that was burnt to the ground

Bodies were on display everywhere.

This was terrible I didn't need to speak the language to guess what happened here. Who or whatever cause this was likely still nearby since the fires were still fairly fresh.

"Waaaah" I heard something cry out. It sounded young like a baby

I followed the sound of the crying to see a wrecked house. It wasn't a pleasant site to say the least. A man had been decapitated by the entrance and a young boy was impaled through the chest no older than maybe 5.

Inside the house didn't fare much better as I saw a young woman likely still in her 20s with multiple stab wounds and slashes all up and down her body. Judging from her clothes it seems like they didn't just stop at killing her...

It disgusted me

The crying began again and I could tell I was right by it. I moved some of the wreckage out of the way and found a young baby only probably only 2 or 3 months old but wait it was bleeding.

The child's right arm was missing. I'd need to act fast to save it. I opened up my emergency med kit and prepared to clean the wound. Not exactly comfortable at seeing a baby injured like this but I couldn't freeze up now.

Thankfully I had some healing spray on hand so I used probably half of the bottle on the child and thankfully her wounds closed up.

On the Ark even small injuries could be deadly if the artificial gravity ever went out so it was necessary that we had a means to near instantly close up wounds.

It was a gamble but thankfully Avosians seemed close enough to humans the medicine worked. After patching the child up I wrapped some gauze around their arm to add a little protection.

I turned my attention away from the child to notice the young woman staring right at me silently. She didn't move or say anything but as I picked the baby up I saw her face relaxed slightly before she closed her eyes for the last time.

So here I was on a planet I didn't know with only a shoddy Telebox to message home and now a one armed alien baby... or I suppose I was the alien here huh.

"What have you gotten yourself into now Klaus" I said to myself.

A few hours ago ****

"HEAR ME GEHNAN FOOLS. LOOK AT THE DESTRUCTION AROUND YOU AND SEE HOW YOUR LEADERS HAVE FAILED!" A booming voice yelled throughout the charred sea village.

"YOU USED TO BE A STRONG NATION ABLE TO FIGHT OFF EVEN THE EMPIRE BUT NOW YOU'VE BECOME WEAK AND PASSIVE TO THE POINT YOU LET THE ONE THAT CONQUERED YOUR NATION RULE AS YOUR KING!"

"IF YOU HAVE ANYONE TO BLAME FOR YOUR PATHETIC FATE BLAME YOURSELVES AND YOUR LEADERS. THEY'LL BE SURE TO LISTEN TO YOU IN HELL!" The gilded king finished
