It's been about a week since I got here... at least I think. The days seem... off somehow. I'm not sure if it was because of the unfamiliar environment or if time itself was different here.

Thankfully I had miss Kate. I couldn't explain why but I felt... safe with her. She treated me well and helped me learn more about her language which was confirmed to be the same Language dad spoke, English.

I struggled some but was able to form short sentences fairly well and I could read the language with a bit of difficulty as well.

Granted there were points they still performed tests on me but instead of being put under and hooked up to scary devices. Instead they'd do some blood work or perform comprehension tests. Probably thanks to miss Kate keeping a close eye on them. Though there was one person that always made me uncomfortable.

Apparently he was called Dr Vaistos. He had short hair, a scrawny appearance, and also had his glasses positioned in a way it was hard to see his eyes as if he was one of those villains from Sophie's comics. He seemed to want to perform some... experiments on me but thankfully he was kind of a coward so he backed down anytime Kate got on his case.

But now I was going on a walk down the hallway with Kate and decided to ask he a question.

"Miss Kate... why are there so few people here?" I asked her in my best English.

She suddenly held my hand which took me by surprise. Then went and told me "Lily there isn't a lot of food left on the Ark. So most of us are in a deeeeeeep sleeeep while the rest of us find a new home for us to be happy." She spoke as if trying to explain to a child... though I guess that wouldn't be wrong.

So they were sleeping? Interesting I guess that explained why I saw so few people here.

Out of all of them the ones I've been able to remember have been Miss Kate for obvious reasons. Doctor Vaistos because of how unsettling he is. The man Kate and the others call Admiral had an intimidating presence but he didn't really seem like a bad man. Then there was Edra... he seemed to be kind of close to miss Kate but I didn't really get the best feelings from him. Maybe I'm a bit biased since he doesn't seem too fond of me either.

In my deep thoughts we managed to arrive at our destination. The hangar where the admiral was located. Looking around I saw men and women in suits that looked kinda like armor but more form fitting, now that I think about it Kate had clothes like that as well in her closet.

Though there was something else I was starting to notice. There aren't any kids on this ship either. Well odds are they were probably sleeping like miss Kate said but i was starting to see for myself just how much I stood out.

"Admiral what are you doing in the Hangar?"

"Ah miss Alans good to see you. I wanted you to be here for the unveiling of some new equipment."

I couldn't make out what they were saying after a certain point but then I felt Kate's hand on my shoulder as she asked for me to wait by the benches near the walls.

Well I did as asked and looked around the hangar and while everything was kinda blurry since I didn't have my glasses or medication I did notice something.

I saw what looked like massive people kneeling at the end of the hangar but instead of being made of skin and bones they were made of metal just like the rooms of the Ark.

"Meow" a small voice cried out I looked around but didn't see anyone nearby.

"Meow" there it was again. But where's it coming from?

All of a sudden I felt something brush against my leg. I looked down to see... something.

It was a small fuzzy creature. It walked on 4 legs and had what looked like a tail sticking straight up. I had no clue what it was but it was looking right at me.

"Uhhhhh... hello"

"Meow"

***************

"So you think the mechs can be repurposed for resource gathering."

"Well I don't see why not. Afterall our combat chassis are already designed for both ranged and melee combat. So we can just replace one of the arms with a hand for gripping and replace the spark blades with a more traditional cutting weapon like an axe or saw. As for the transport models it will be easy we won't even need to make major modifications."

"Well what do you think miss Alans." The admiral asked me.

To be honest it didn't sound bad but... why was I even here? I worked in the navigation division. I wasn't an Astro Miner and I was born long after the earth was destroyed. I don't think I'm that qualified to speak.

"Well... I'm not really the most qualified for this subject matter but I can at least see there being some use. Especially with the transport models since we know Avos has trees and water similar to our own." I'm not sure why but the person suggesting the idea seemed happy with my answer. Was my approval really that important?

Then I received an urgent notification. Level 1B
The highest level classification that didn't involve a life threatening emergency.

I apologized to the others and stepped to a quieter place in the hangar. "Kate Alans reporting in. What's the issue?"

"Well Kate we finished analyzing our data on the Avosian."

"Lily" I interrupted the lady

"On Lily. Anyways we found something interesting. Her dna was different from the other samples that were recovered. Then we started cross referencing the data and realized she's only half Avosian. She's half human."

"What?!? But how?"

"Well weren't entirely sure but then we had a theory that maybe one of the crew members of the Carlesia was a parent since she was born a few years after the incident."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing... someone from that ship survived? Then... could it maybe be...

"We found a match Kate. The girls father is Caius Alans. Kate your brother is or at the very least was alive. This child is your biological niece."

Aaaaaand that's the chapter hope y'all enjoyed. I don't have much to talk about story or life wise so I'll just say this. Guys if you're making an all bosses video for YouTube please DO NOT PUT THE FINAL BOSS IN THE THUMBNAIL!

Merry Christmas
