**The Cyber City**

(Y/n's POV)

"Thanks Kris... oh and you too Y/n." Noelle said without paying me any mind. AND YOU TOO Y/N?? I WAS LITERALLY HELPING TO SAVE HER AND SHE- you know what? Calm down Y/n. It isn't worth your time and energy to be upset. Kris saved and was immediately interrupted by Noelle's curiosity. Or should I say nosiness. "What are you doing?" she asked Kris confused. I mean in her defense, reaching out to a star of light to restore our HP and prevent us from dying for good does seem kinda weird. "I'm saving. Saving as in saving in a game way. So we can restore our HP or prevent us from dying forever." they explained. "W-WE CAN DIE HERE?!" Noelle said worried. "Yup. But we haven't yet so you should be safe with us." I said hesitantly. She slightly calmed down. We continued down the path to Noelle stopping us again. "So, uh, any idea where Susie is?" she asked sheepishly. Kris turned around to face Noelle with a look while I just had an annoyed look on my face. "What?! WHAT?! I'm just asking!! It's a normal question!!" she waved her hands in a 'you got it all wrong' way. "She's with Ralsei checking out the other way. So we can find and seal the fountain and get out of here." I sighed. "Oh okay." she said. We FINALLY went on our way to find the way out of here when there was a puzzle blocking our path. Not knowing what to do, we read the instructions. "'Mice will rotate 90 degrees when they collide with the block. Citizens must push blocks to get mice in the holes. Use the bell to reset.'" I read aloud. I analyzed the puzzle and figured it out almost immediately. "Kris, step on that pressure plate when I say so." I ordered. Without hesitation, they moved to position without questioning me.  I moved the block down once and to the right once. "Alright, step on it." I said. They stepped on it and the mice raced out, turned, and went into the hole. "Huh, first try too? You're pretty good at this puzzle thing." they said. "I observe and learned from the best." I winked. They started blushing hard and I giggled. "Looks like that took care of it.." Noelle said creeping up to us. "Noelle? What's wrong? You're shaking." Kris pointed out. "I-I am? Oh- It's just that I'm afraid of mice-" she squeaked out. (A/N: see what I did there?) "You... should probably sit out mice puzzles then." I said patting her on her shoulder. We pursued through the alley to go through an unavoidable battle with a Virovirokun.

*BATTLE START*

"H-huh!? What's going on?! What are we doing?!" Noelle said looking around confused. "Noelle, Y/n, let's take care!" Kris ordered. "W-what? I'm so confused..." Noelle said. "Oh boy, is this your first time in a battle?" the Virovirokun asked. I didn't know they could say full sentences much less ask questions. "Uh... Well... um yes..." she admitted. "Oh boy..." it sighed. "It's a good thing I kept Ralsei's manual on me." Kris sighed taking it out for Noelle to read. "Huh? FIGHTing, ACTing, using ITEMs, using MERCY, DEFENDing, MAGIC abilities??" she quickly read through. "Oh! It's kinda like Dragon Blazers! And if we're nice to you we can win through mercy?" she asked it. "Yeah." it responded. "And the way I have to do that is... dressing up in a weird costume??" she asked again. "Not necessarily for all battles, but this one, yes." I further explained. 

* Kris, Y/n, and Noelle showed the enemy tender loving care!

* Virovirokun looks healthy.

* Kris spared Virovirokun!

* You WON! Got 0 EXP and 88 D$.

"Phew, was scared we'd get hit there!" Noelle sighed with relief. Kris and I shrugged at each other and we continued on the path ahead. We avoided (thankfully) a battle with some ambulance-flu shot-looking darkners and found a path going up so we went to check it out. Up there we saw Susie and Ralsei eating cotton candy together. "SUSIE!? YOU GOT COTTON CANDY!?!" I called out to get her attention. She turned to see me, Kris, and Noelle standing by the cones. "Y/n?? Kris?? Noelle?? What are you guys doing here?" she said running over to us with Ralsei waving from a distance. "I don't know we kinda were just looking for the way out like we planned." Kris shrugged. "H-hi Susie!" Noelle garbled out. "Uh hey- Noelle-" Susie said slowly. "Yo Susie how much is the cotton candy?" I asked. "40 D$ each. Why?" she asked. I pulled 120 D$ out of my pocket and gave it to her. "Mind getting 3 for us?" I asked. "Sure." she said walking back to the stand. She bought the 3 and struggled to hold them all the way so she asked Ralsei to help her bring them over. "Thanks! Oh and uh-" I said pulling another 160 D$ out. "Treat yourself. And DON'T waste it all in one spot okay? 80 is for Ralsei so don't hog it." I said giving it to her. She looked at me like I was gonna say "sike" and take it back in front of her eyes until I pushed it into the palm of her hand. "Jeez, thanks N/n. I'm gonna outdo you with your sudden gifting." she said giving me direct eye contact. That's when Noelle bumped into me all of a sudden and I dropped my cotton candy that almost dropped on Susie. Something tells me that was not an accident. "Damn Noelle! I was looking forward to eating that..." I said upset. "Don't worry Y/n I'll share mine with you." they said ripping off half and handing it to me. "Thanks Kris." I smiled softly. Susie looked at the floor cotton candy eagerly. "Susie. Don't. Eat that." I said pointing at it. She made eye contact with me and then the cotton candy and slowly reached down to grab it. "Susie!" I said making her jolt back up to look at me. I shooed her off to leave it alone. "Fineee. I won't eat it." she groaned. "Bye Susie." I waved off. "Bye N/n."  she waved before going back to Ralsei. "Huh. I wonder why Ralsei didn't say hi." I thought aloud. "Beats me." Kris said biting into their cotton candy.

We went back the way we came and found another crosswalk. This road was much simpler to cross so we had no problem. The one AFTER however had three different stop buttons. I swear we were stuck here for HOURS. We finally found the solution and crossed that damned street. On the other side was a Ferris wheel poster. We walked up to it in awe. "Oo a Ferris wheel? We should definitely go." I suggested. "To the one here or the one at the festival?" Kris asked slightly blushing. "Both works. I could imagine Susie screaming random shit at the top." I chuckled. "It makes the one at the festival look like a toy, haha! I wonder if Susie would..." Noelle said. "Oh she would def-" "I was talking to Kris, Y/n." she said in a passive-aggressive tone. "Well yeah she would, but you don't have to be like that Noelle." Kris said looking at Noelle. They sounded like they were trying to keep their cool. I don't know how they do it but they're lucky they took over the conversation 'cuz I've almost had it with this. She kept quiet but was slightly blushing. There was a dark alleyway behind us so we went down there. There was a pressure plate in front of a laser that cut off the rest of the alley. "I'll hold it down, Noelle you can-" "Actually can I do it?" I piped up and said. If she was so bold to push me and make my cotton candy fall because I was talking to my best friend, it would take her nothing to be bold enough to try and electrocute my ass. "Oh sure Y/n." Kris said. They held down the pressure plate and the laser went away. Noelle and I walked past as I held down the pressure plate to let Kris pass. Why is Noelle acting like a bitch for no reason??

((A/N: Listen I love Noelle but wish I was her to the point I'd be upset at her for some things (like being close to Susie) so I guess I'm projecting my upsetness into this book a little- I swear this is for plot and not just because of the reason above--))
